Localy we have a hiking bunch between the mtn bike and xc ski areas

the old fucks can't do anything cuz they are now just old ladies who can't do anything cuz the men are dead or almost dead, , they don't like us but they don't mid using the mtnb association trails

a gov senior planner emeritus told me the gov are waiting for all the old people to die off and then all 3 areas will become one big area of non motorized rec for all

if they were smart the hikers would get out of the way and they would have a say / have easier hiking but old fucks gota old fuck eh

This only became national park about 10 years ago and these trails per-date that by about a decade. Otherwise is a good point, but hard to call them rogue in this case

"Unsanctioned" is probably a better term?

I'd say you'll be lucky if they build any trails that allow bikes at all - not many National Parks allow singletrack cycling at ALL. Mammoth Cave, I believe, has some. And RMNP has *one* small singletrack that's open to bikes.

Calling this national park is a stretch at best and can’t be unsanctioned IMO if it all the trails were built before being designated a national park. This is outside Wilmington DE, not exactly some majestic area as it’s surrounded by strip malls and neighborhoods.

Your point is valid regardless, I’m sure the park service will completely fuck it up.

NP is NP. They play by their own irrational bureaucratic rules. Hoping to change their way is as realistic as convincing TSA you can bring a bottle of Gatorade through security.

Since when is Black Friday a month-long thing? It’s annoying enough as a single day, much less all of November.

I don't mind the extended sale period since I usually go out of town all of Tgiving week and would this miss out on any sales. Not that I often need anything. This year though there are a couple things I'd like to pick up.

My new knee has reached the point where I need weights to build back the muscle, and this has taken me back into the gym world. Before this, I've lifted at home, but want the control of a sled and machines as I try to isolate the leg. The etiquette of people in the gym sucks. Yesterday, there literally was a lady who was sitting on a squat sled watching the view on her phone who refused to let me work in. Two others got mad at me when I asked a guy if I could work in on sets while they were on their phones nearby and they indicated I was cutting in front of them. I said" your welcome to work in with me". I will get through this, and back to my own narcisistic home set up in six months or so, but it might be a business idea for a gym to say no phones?

    This day and age?
Good luck with that. Sadly, no phones=no clientele.

I hate it when M/C is sitting empty so I try to get on it and buddy sez " I have 2 more sets " when buddy is clearly wroking on another M/C or playing with weights or SFT,

get on the m/c do you sets and go do something else

I'm just not a gym person.

    Love em or hate em.
A class 3 Ebike with a throttle,is probably the best mental and physical therapy device.

I could ride the bike, before I could walk or legally drive.

There are also those guys who wank about trying to do strange things on a M/C by altering it in some silly way when there is already a M/C to work that muscle which nobody ever uses that pisses me off

I go do maybe half a doz things and i'm out of there in < 45min, I don't wana talk, I don't wana jump in your routine, I don't want you jumping in on what i'm doing

Do I really like hanging out in the gym ? NO but I found weights were necessary to get strong enough to ski on a GS ski back when there were intermediate ski or race skis that were not easy to ski ,

to get strong enough so I don't get hurt skiing hard or hurt WW kayaking

for post ACL surgery pt on the knee

Thank you for asking what I assume Gym Rats will call a dumb question. I dislike the gym but in the winter options are limited.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I've started going to the gym with my wife - haven't been a gym-goer since college days.

Luckily, we go to our local rec center during the day during the week and there are generally only ever a handful of folks in the gym and they all make me feel really young.

Strava has gone nuclear on third party apps like VeloViewer, Intervals.icu, etc. If you're still paying for Strava, cancel now!

I read their TOS and impacts to third party apps (that's my job). Not good at all. Decently consistent FU message to the app ecosystem

The strava to trailforks integration is going to be the one that bothers me the most. I don't really use thje intervals.icu or others much, but agree that's pretty BS. Hoping Garmin, Wahoo, others setup better direct connections from the source to those 3rd party systems. Sometimes I use the strava app on my watch though, which wouldn't go through Wahoo like my GPS bike computer does.

Hopefully there's enough pushback from strava to reverse course or at least tame it down.

AXS again has annoyed me. Lost communication between shifter and derailleur. Was stuck in my 50. I haven't even begun to look at what possibly might be wrong. Maybe the stupid battery in the shifter died? Maybe the fix is easy but when you're on trail and borderline late to be somewhere with the wife I just didn't have time to be fucking with this axs shit I know nothing about. Should of rode my Bronson.
