Rad! Post pics in anti rant thread once you have the tailgate pad moved over!

I did a hotshot for a driller so he loaded up a brand new 3500 chev duromax with 3000lbs of drill gear and gave me the key. Even loaded the ride & power and power was amazing until they unloaded it in ft mac AND I realized it rode like a truck, a nice truck tho

RoadActive suspension is my secret for making a 3/4 ton (non-RAM leaf spring) truck an acceptable unloaded daily driver. Probably would be a lot more subtle on an unloaded 1 ton truck.

That's another part that I love about my RAM. And will miss dearly.
The Power Wagon package includes a soft offroad-ish coil spring suspension that rides amazingly well.

If you use the truck unloaded it’s definitely worth adding RAS to the rear leaves of the Silvy. Can install yourself if you are handy.
They market RAS as providing more stable loaded handling of 1/2 tons, but they are under marketing how it also helps unloaded handling of 3/4 tons. I can’t say enough good things about it - it raises the sag point and makes the truck *very* active around the new sag point, very coil like early in the travel and stable when loaded. Increased traction on gravel roads is very noticeable as well.

So it's the Mezzer of truck suspension?

    Local shops doing suspension work:

I've had issues with my 2022 Zeb Ultimate since I got it- always felt way too stiff off the top- tried tons of combinations of pressures and tokens. Finally had the damper redone and asked the local shop (which has a good reputation) to do a full damper/spring level 2 service- didn't solve anything, and they told me the bushings felt fine to them.

I installed the Buttercups air spring today to try to utilize the larger negative air spring and see if I could soften up the beginning of the stroke- pulling the lowers off took effort all the way down, the lowers won't move at all on their own, and there's visible stanchion wear where the bushings have rubbed the anodizing off. First ride on the larger negative spring felt good for the first two runs, and then deteriorated back to what it felt like before. Anecdotal reports on PinkBike say that this is indicative of bushing issues- feeling great for a short while after a lower service and then going back to normal shortly.

To top it off- the old air spring (which the local shop said they serviced) had a massive gob of grease in the negative chamber- probably 10cc's at least worth.

Swapping this thing out for the Fox 38 I got last fall and sending it in to Shock Howse to do a full bushing run and custom valving.

Seems like a good time to bring this up again… absolutely fucking horrible WC coverage of UCI events. I get that FloSports had the highest bid to broadcast the World Championships this weekend, but fuuuuck. Their coverage sucks, and has sucked in the past, and it stunts any possible growth in the sport or bringing on new fans. You’d think they would make the World Championships the crown jewel of the broadcast and try to get as many eyes as possible on the event. WTF.

Awesome. I am seriously considering going to a 2020+ Chevy/GMC 2500HD. Replacing a 2010 F150. Hope the truck treats you well!

Hey eBitches, learn how to ratchet your pedals! Or put your seat down and shift so you can rock the bike side to side as you roll your pitiful, overweight pile of batteries over the slightest lump in the sandstone where somehow 50 of your fellow idiots have inexplicably managed to scrape metal before you. Or stay the fuck off the trails you're not supposed to ride. Because you're pedal-striking the hell out of every 4" tall rise with your lazy, rhythmless, no talent hacking along you damn clueless moran gapers. And don't try to act like it's not you because the hard trails are doing fine. So get your shit together. That is all.

I'm honestly starting to wish they all just came with a throttle. This urge to keep the gear whine consistent at all costs is insidious.

Solid rant my friend! Keep up the e-hate. I’ve been fighting a battle against the e-bros at my local hill over a switchback they keep cutting so they can save 15 feet and go up an old road instead of just riding the trail. Every time I ride it, I put a bunch of branches back over the switchback, and every time I’m back, they’re gone and there’s tire marks, and this is a spot steep enough that it’s definitely eebs riding uphill

Don’t worry, the development of manageable overrun will mitigate this to a point. But not entirely.

Have somehow managed to break two lower derailleur pulleys recently. first time must have been a little rock in there, which also broke the chain (one inner link plate which i didn't even notice until the next day). 2nd time, much bigger rock i think, but chain seems fine. Also was able to still ride the bike out of the woods.

Quite often the motor hits but it sound like there shouldn't be any mtn bikes on those trails at all if they are that sensitive

around here its the stravassholes on acoustic bike who cut the trails and move stuff, why would an E-bikers bother with strava when they can beat all the acoustic bikes ?

No problems with E bikes up here just down there, yeah its all got to be the E-bikes, no way could an acoustic biker be a asshole in a country of 340 million rugged individulalists, hell Americans don't even like Americans

its not the E-bike its the people riding them

You sound like an ignorant eBitch. There is absolutely no way that motors are hitting these spots. Not tall enough. Not tall enough for a pedal strike unless you're completely clueless or trying. The trails are not sensitive to rubber. Tires and shoe soles are soft, and they need no help from pedals or crank ends to do their job.

I've been visiting these trails at least annually for 25 years. On a mtn bike. In the last 10 months the pedal strike marks in places that make no sense have increased at least 3x--but only on the easy trails. Harder trails look exactly the same as always. Literal pinch points where I have to be right at the top of my game to keep from touching show no signs of wear.

My recent visits have not seen an increase in users by historical standards (seasonally adjusted). Peak riders happened about 10 years ago, give or take. But the number of first time eBitches rolling easy trails is up by roughly the same as the pedal marks. Coincidence? No.

its not the E-bike its the eBitches

I bitch about ebikers, but not ebikes. And it certainly isn't all ebikers because a lot of the SC ebikers are OG who built this place and some of the young guns are ripping laps on them.

And pedal strikes on rocks is an odd gripe? Idk how long you've been riding, but when we had 3 rings up front the big one became the bash guard. Rocks back then were hammered looking. They've recovered in time.

It is a pipe dream, but all ebikers should have to ride a regular MTN bike for...ahhh...three years? before they can buy an ebike?

OK. For me the eBike thing is that I haven’t met one that is part of the community. If I meet a struggling mountain biker on the trail, like they have a mechanical or some difficulty, I would always talk/help out, say hi etc. The folks I see on e-bikes are just zooming by, not smiling, or saying hi. It’s just odd. I think the same thing about people that are like that on (analog), bikes, it’s just really rare.

Localy the paid club exec the long time builder and trail builders all ride ebikes everyone sez hi, its not an issue cuz nobody is American so nobody cares

But if you glare at someone on an ebike maybe he ignores you cuz of the bitch face so maybe its you but why would you care ?

cuz these are all Americans who you hate them anyway, they just happen to be on e-bikes

dude. I have an ebike and you give ebikers a bad name. Just can you step back and accept some folks don’t like ebikes. It’s ok. What happens in Canada is not what happens in the States…So your hot takes are not really applicable.
