The best part of AXS shit is that I can sell it for gobs of money to suckers on the internet and buy a higher end mechanical drivetrain for a net gain.

I sent a link to the surron guy's youtube channel to the city ranger I work with. He responded saying he reached out to SDPD and they are interested in doing a night operation to bust the surron riders if we can pin down a time/location for a future ride. Now to do a bit of investigating....

Now San Clemente is looking at holding parents responsible.
For the kiddos e-bike but not if they get the parents hand gun and shoot someone.

I saw someone the other day riding with a t-shirt that said, "hold on while I overthink this." I felt seen.

I drove shuttle for my buddy and his kids in his janky ass old truck. I get to the bottom and get ready to go for a pedal ride myself, but the window on his shitty cobbled together topper exploded, so instead of riding I got to spend 45 minutes picking up glass from the trailhead parking lot.

    They’re not e-bikes. They’re not bikes.
Should they have plates? Kids are riding them on streets.
They’re also getting ridden through parks, on trails and multi-use paths.
They fucking suck and parents who buy them for their kids to rally around town fucking suck.

Yeah, I need to buy a spare axs battery.

In my defense, I have three mtn bikes and one with axs, so if I'm not riding the axs bike for a bit I do forget to charge the battery. That's where it went south for me the one time my battery was dead.
Now my eeb comuter tells me my % and kicks down assist as I get low, so impossible to forget to charge.

I came across surrons the last 3 rides I did in town. Sucks to see them fucking up trails they shouldn’t be on. One kid was straight up stopped in the middle of hidden valley and on his phone. While I was able to squeeze by, I wanted to goose the throttle and send that thing down the hill w/ or without him.

That fucking sucks! Especially because most (all?) factory toppers use polymer windows that crack but don’t shatter! WTF!

Dude. That’s real bad. Take pictures, call it in. I think the city needs to drop the hammer on these things and nip it in the bud.
A classic old, grumpy, NY accent lesbian lady who is a good customer and has become a buddy… I saw her throw a bag of dog shit at a kid after he rallied over the high school bridge and tracks up onto the river trail. Fucking hilarious.

I’ve heard they’re on Lions Den regularly and I live by Chapman and see them in the Riverview hood all the time.

They do need to drop the hammer. I posted pics here of the worst one, which was with a group of out of state, rich van life 30 year olds riding boutique e-bikes and a surron around horse gulch and the new mesa trails. That one was weird cause they had tens of thousands of dollars tied up in their bikes and van with an inside rack system. To be that into biking and that much of an ass, that disrespectful to a trail system was weird to me.

I saw elsewhere on the interwebs that a bunch of surron kids destroyed sheep hills. For those unfamiliar, sheep hills is a fairly legendary bmx dirt jump spot in Huntington Beach that's been there for decades. I guess the surron kids tried to ride there and the bmxers told them to fuck off. So they came back in the middle of the night with surrons and shovels and very purposefully destroyed the whole place.

Fortunately, a few people knew who they were and some of the elder statesmen of the bmx community went to surron kids' parents. They organized a day for the surron kids to come out and help the bmxers rebuild the jumps, so in the end it maybe came out sort of ok. But clearly surron kids are still a huge problem.

It's not the "Surron", it's the people. I think a surron would be fun as hell to rip around on, but I would take it to moto tracks/areas, not mtb or BMX.

    So once again, people suck.

Stem and headset companies need to get their shit together. The headset top cap and all stem bolts should either be 4mm or 5mm, I don't care which. But a mix of bolt sizes is annoying and pointless. I shouldn't need 2 wrenches to tighten a headset. And if some eurotrash company decides to throw a t25 into the mix, I'm gonna reconsider my alliances whenever WW3 rolls around.

Exactly. It's starting to sound like a bunch of Sierra Clubbers ranting about mountain bikes.

I want to rant about how annoying it is when just one of your fancycassette’s gears is finally roached. It was the second lowest gear. If it had been just the 51, I would have ignored it for the rest of the season…but second one down skips when going down, and back up.

I have a few thousand miles on my gravel bike (got it in 2021). Finally need to adjust the front derailleur as it's having some issues getting into the bigger ring. Look up how to adjust without faffing with the cable and low and behold, the plate the adjustment screw is supposed to rest against was never installed. Now wasting an inordinate amount of time searching for one of these things.
