The beer fest is the greatest event I have ever encountered.

So my roommate and I show up at 11:15, the event started at 11am, no problems with parking it was smooth sailing. The red river of cars was just starting to pick up as we walked across the golf course towards the gate. In the distance we see two really long lines about 75 yards long. Oh shoot, since we didn’t buy our tickets in advance we decided to tag team the lines and attack. I stood at the end of the glass line, while my roommate stood in the ticket line; just then a guy with an orange vest comes up and starts to ask everyone to move to the other side of the sand bunkers to help redirect the line. I acted quickly, smoothly starting to slide my way to the front of the line. As I follow the guy with the orange vest, I am quickly walking my way to the front of the long line. When I look back I see my roommate is not having the same luck as me. So I yell at him and give him a head nod to start cutting the line like me. He’s not getting the signal, what the hell, do you want me to wave a flag. So now I am at the front of the wrong line and don’t have a ticket. I quickly changed lines where the lines merged near the front, bought my ticket, then smoothly slipped back into my other spot in line.

So I am in, but I had to leave my roommate behind, no friends on a powder day type thing. Everyone gets a 8oz taster as the enter the field. The tent in the center of everything has all the beer behind it. The perimeter of the tent was just a long line tap handles and brewery names. So I quickly dive in and taste all the beers under the Nectar ales. Most tastes were full glasses, and I would pound one then sip another if I liked it. But quickly I found my self running into all kinds of friends and the drinking continued.

The atmosphere was great; it was about 75’ right next to beach and a there were plenty of ladies showing skin. There was couple of thousand people standing around in little circles all getting plastered on the unlimited supply of beer. They set up and stage and there was grass seating and dancing going on the whole time.

My boss, this German guy named Sven, and I would go on little rampages. We would pick several beers (anywhere from 3 to 6) pound them quickly and then get our favorite of the bunch to stand around and bull shit with. This went on for about the first hour. As our level of intoxication keep rising, so did the amount we were consuming. My roommate had made it in and was also on the same drinking train. All around us we could tell the level of drunkenness was rising. I saw more people running to pee, people starting to fall over and other little signs. It also seemed really easy to meet chicks there too. I would constantly meet groups of girls that only came with other girls, score. All the people I meet seemed really chill, kinda like a hippy fest, everyone would hang out on blankets and just do whatever.

This is when the memory gets all blended, about 2 hours into our project I could tell the alcohol was starting to slow me down. I had drunk so many beers that I didn’t think I could keep going. I think I was at about 50 by this point. With only a half an hour left, I haven’t drunk every beer yet, I keep going. Then I ran into another good friend of mine, who dragged me over to the arrogant bastard table. The person pouring the bastard was someone I lived in the dorms with. So I fill my glass, pounded it and before I could turn around there was another one. Then the same thing happened like 3 times, all the peer pressure I just keep drinking. With only 10 minutes left I ran and filled my cup with my 3 favorite beers of the day. 1. New Begum Sunshine summer wheat 2. Firestone private reserve and 3. Kirin Ichiban from japan. After that we took cabs home and I sleep until about 11pm on the couch. Woke up and went downtown for more… Water.
