So if we get 25 people to buy we could have Down make official skis for and sponsor long board day?

I meant special, not survival. Edited it.
I don't need to know, mostly just idle curiousity. I'd think the presses are designed with a typical max length around 190-200

Wait what? 125/105/122?
May be its the inflationary increase in ski width that is affecting my thought process subconsciously, but that seems a tad narrow? Might well be that I'm misjudging it. Would be very interested in the design process that made you settle on those numbers. Is it to get the wider radius?
For comparison xwing labs @ 198 had 140/107/120 with an r of 35ish and the xxls @194 with 132/109/122 with a r of 40ish.
Just curious!

Thanks for the pics, buenonda, can't wait for mine. These make so much sense for everyday shitsnow charging, it's not even funny.
LBD special skis would be fun, slightly fattened SGS dims?

It´s 125-105-112 (typo, I guess).
It´s an extrapolation on the CD3/SD115/115M, where we´ve wanted to keep the freeride feel in a narrower package. So it´s not a widened GS/SG/DH ski, but more of a narrower freeride/pow ski, optimized for funky and difficult snow and high speed (duh). The dims reflect this since it´s tapered in both the tip and tail, with a relatively short effective edge of 1342mm.
The idea is that you get a ton of stability due to the length/weight/straightness, yet preserve a pow ski´s ability to feather into and out of turns and break out of the radius to scrub speed more easily. 105 in the waist with a long, rockered tip gives plenty of float at mach schnell anyway. We´ll have to see of our customers feel the same way.simen@downskis.com DOWN SKIS

What you're describing was the premise of my Iggies, at 134/120/124,50m or so sidecut, and while the waist could feel a bit sluggish to knock around in chop, long, tapered tips and an almost straight sidecut does let you haul ass, and dump speed very quickly when you want to. I don't think going a few mm narrower will diminish much of the fluff capabilities, compared to mine, and 5cm off each end of these Showdowns will give you a 192, not that much. Pony up, ski longboards! (For the record, I'm a strong skier, but only 177cm, 96kg, not a finesse oriented guy at all)

Our local ski maker did a 206 for a buddy so I asked how/why 206?
James said the beam I got for the ski press was about 40' it gets cut into 4 pieces and the press is long enough to make a 206Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

you can see others pics and comments (but French) there
http://www.skipass.com/forums/sports...7399-2100.html
roughly the flex of the sd105 is near the old 196 bodacious with stiffer tail and 5.3kg (nice for s titanal rubber ash ski construction)
@Sist there is flax on the layup or only fiber?
