I want to get a talk with the factory first. No point in giving a false/uncertain timeline.

Will get back once I have solid info.

Happy to see they're indeed blue and not the red ones.

    Good Sir,

    Thanks for the mail.

Been a little challenging lately but the 196 is coming along. Maybe mid-March but 100% confirmed for later.

    All well with you?

This is happening, has taken way longer than we thought and our comms have sucked.

Sorry about that to everyone who's been in the dark.

We're running the 196's in the presale, along with all other models and lengths, and the lineup is growing (slowly), meaning we're almost a real company with a real lineup now... Even a Down skier (Mickaël Bimboes) in the freeride world tour next year, on the 114's, 189cm.

Thanks for the support and again, sorry for the lack of communication, we're all working full time jobs with families and kids in addition to Down, meaning we're not always completely on top of everything that's happening.

    To a great 17/18!

If you signed up on the original request line you will get 10% off the pre-sale price and that will be AMAZING again like all years. I had a dream on the July 15th (;P) that skis should not cost more than 349E so you get the picture Pre-sale will start late August and if you already where on the request line mailing list you will get a personal mail from me over the next few weeks.

As Simen said, sorry about the delay but we continue to move the ball forward and deliver the best skis at the best prices every year. We have some new materials, new layups, new sizes, and actually some of the same old fan favs back....I love this years lineup personally.

Thanks mags for the support and of course personal email help from myself (geo (at) downskis.com) or (simen (at) downskis.com) is ALWAYS/ You can call me to...just DM me. Always here to help.

Can you give any more info? Sounds exciting.

Still can't get over how much you guys charge for such awesome skis. Even though some of the past shapes haven't necessarily been my cup of tea personally, they're amazing quality for the price.

Meticulously built skis. I'm liking the evolution of the designs as well.

Not exactly relevant to this thread in particular but I just want to add to the positive feedback of the last few posts.

I couldn't believe the price in light of the specs and was a bit worried when I ordered a pair of 179 LD102 in the spring. When the skis came I was super impressed with the build quality and fell in love with the shape. I don't believe in sidecut and have been looking for a skinny version of my old Lotus 120s for years.

I had a positively horrible first day on them which was entirely my fault as I didn't detune the tips and was skiing some of the vilest refrozen windboard I've ever seen in the Wasatch. Day 2 was a make-or-break kind of day down a steep couloir in shitty conditions, I figure I'd either fall to my death if I was unable to turn the skis or I'd love them. I loved them, felt super comfortable making turns over exposure on bullet snow. Day 3 was more bullshit snow, refrozen Eastern Sierra suncups, and the skis performed as well as one could hope, I could actually hold an edge while rattling along and link turns. Day 4 was heavenly steep corn, that's as close as I've come to my superG race days.

Those skis do it all and they weigh practically nothing. Ideal for long missions in any conditions. When the 120s die I'm getting a pair of their fat cousins. That is all.

Thank you sir for this. We have a ton of skiers worried about the large R on the LD series but we believe in the LRC concept and once skiers get on the skis they do too! Thanks again for the support and feedback. G
