I have a sudden urge to go put my boots on and stomp around the trailer.

Nice! - Those conditions were far from bad (especially after the last few years in Tahoe.) Got my first taste of the Bird last year when we piggybacked a couple extra days on a trip to SLC for one of our kids gymnastics comps. Looking to get back this year for a few days mid-week to explore a little more. Rad terrain! Nice to rip on some longer runs after spending so much time at Kirkwood.

the answer is steeps. the angle of the slope might be more important than the condition of the snow as long as its carvable snow

Completely agree - that needs to make a comeback in ski films. Some will be lucky to get a perfect day in AK, but everybody can relate to shredding your local hill.

+1 to both comments, but being an older dood that really started skiing at 45, I will never ski like that, but I do still have a bunch of fun.

And that's all that really matters. The person with the biggest smile at the end of the day wins!

The older I get the more I realize how funny it is that people take themselves and their skiing so damn seriously. I used to be one of those guys, thank god I'm not any longer.

+1 to that (smiles), and as long as the snow isn't bone rattling, I'm fine.

Love those conditions, love his skiing. If you want to develop your skiing to that level, train in the gates every morning then free ski a big mountain like Snowbird, Jackson, Squaw, et al every afternoon. For years. Starting when you're little. Like going fast. Be in good shape.

Hey cool, I get that condition regularly at a place called Castle up here. Fucking hero snow that fills in during the 20min between runs. They call it wind sift. Got to get to the Bird one day looks like.
