Nice! - Those conditions were far from bad (especially after the last few years in Tahoe.) Got my first taste of the Bird last year when we piggybacked a couple extra days on a trip to SLC for one of our kids gymnastics comps. Looking to get back this year for a few days mid-week to explore a little more. Rad terrain! Nice to rip on some longer runs after spending so much time at Kirkwood.

Yeah anyone who calls these conditions bad doesn't know anything. Chalky steeps are #3 in line right behind fresh show and perfect corn.

the answer is steeps. the angle of the slope might be more important than the condition of the snow as long as its carvable snow

Completely agree - that needs to make a comeback in ski films. Some will be lucky to get a perfect day in AK, but everybody can relate to shredding your local hill.

The older I get the more I realize how funny it is that people take themselves and their skiing so damn seriously. I used to be one of those guys, thank god I'm not any longer.

I actually do prefer wind buffed and wind buffed cream more than deep powder snow. We get some good wind buff days here at Snowbowl but Snowbowl ain't no Snowbird.

Hey cool, I get that condition regularly at a place called Castle up here. Fucking hero snow that fills in during the 20min between runs. They call it wind sift. Got to get to the Bird one day looks like.
