WTB: 2002-era Atomic TM:EX or Salomon Pocket Rockets, both in mid-180s. Remember both being awesome. Kinda want to compare to what I’m on now.

Read in a different thread that CMH Explosivs (with the channel) don't have metal in the mounting zone to necessitate a 4.1 bit. Can anyone confirm?

Damn. Always wanted a pair of those. If I didn't already have Goliaths I'd be all over these.

Someone buy these. $75 is an insane deal for an awesome ski by any standard, that also happens to be a classic.

About ten years ago I was skinning up the Tuckerman Ravine trail and came across a guy skinning on XXL's with Dukes. He was wearing a helmet and an insulated jacket and sweating like crazy. He saw me moving comfortably, looked at my skis, probably 179 Bros with TLT Speeds, and said, "Holy shit, I need to get some of those!" I suggested in might help if he took off a couple layers. "Good idea!" he said enthusiastically, and stopped to do so as I skinned out of sight.

Later that day I watched as he hucked himself off one of the biggest cliffs on the headwall and stuck the landing on some pretty damn firm snow. One of the more impressive skiing feats I've ever witnessed. And I thought to myself, Holy shit, I need to get some of those!"

Appear to be built in Germany. From what I read these were a K2 branded Volkl “fat” that shortly thereafter became the explosiv w an added few more mm of girth. Believe the Volkl made Kahuna was from 1997. Limited info on the www and I have no actual recollection as I was still skiing 7Ss cluelessly in the late 90s.
