    Love most pork products, hate ham- how to fix the glitch...

    Procuitto = awesome
    Salami = great
    Pepparoni, sure
    Bacon, of course
    Pork chops hell yeah
    But ham, honey baked, canadian bacon and corned beef, corned beef is quite possible the worst way to ruin a terrible cut of meet. Do not like.

    Now pastrami thats a different story. Fuck yeah.
    I guess its the cure but pork chops arent cured.

    So heres the rub, I got a bunch of free fresh ham, how to I make this taste like something I like?

    Ham steak is like eating human. Anybody remember that randy quaid movie about the family that was eating people and feeding them to their kid? Quaid was munching ham steak with that beet red face and that nasty mole all close up...ughh.

    I think it was called parents or meat or maybe im confusing 2 different movies.

    Jambon Beurre sandwiches are the bomb! Yum! Needs to be made with traditionally French cured jambon which can be hard to find unfortunately.

    Jambon beurre sandwiches are one of the many great inventions of the French: a simple sandwich (jambon beurre means "ham butter") composed of just an excellent baguette and some slices of ham, the two ingredients sealed together with a bit of butter. Ta-da. Nothing extraneous, no cheese or lettuce or tomato or special sauce, nothing to get in the way of the basic elements. You need an excellent baguette, good ham and butter.

    Yup, not a fan of ham either. Proper bone in, is almost tolerable, but processed is grade A garbage.

    Crockpot the ham with Pinto beans, about the best thing to do with it. Bake some cornbread to go with it, and dice some onions.

    I don't find ham disgusting, but I certainly agree that it's the red headed stepchild of pork products.

    You go and get some Kurobuta Ham and eat it. If you don't like it, you should reassess your life.

    That ham is disgusting, now here is ham. Spanish dry cured, a little pricey, $195 Euro per KG, that's $85/lb, worth every penny of it. Have to have the ham from black hoofed pigs, they roam the forests, eating only acorns, then cured for 48 months. The marbling of the ham makes it look like beef. Name: Ham.JPG

    I don't know how you can hate corned beef and love pastrami. Pastrami is corned beef. Generally agree on ham though. Good with eggs or in fried rice. Best used more like a seasoning.

    And both are beef brisket. WTF are you talking about beef in a ham thread?
