I think they look good, coming from someone who neither owns a gopro or drone. I think the 5 Session could be the tits tho if the quality is up to par with the normal 5. Nice form factor and I believe it has some image stabilization, although it's not optical. The drone looks cool too. I'm interested...

I'm hearing a lot of skepticism but it looks like a pretty well thought-out product package to me. The bros are gonna be upset when they realize they can't use their drones at the resort.

They dropped the price too... $400 for their flagship camera. Probably due to all the cheap clones. From what I have read, the SJCAM and Xiaomi products are 95% of the quality for 30% of the cost.

Latest Garmin cam = better than GoPro, per initial reviews. They finally got it right.

    HERO5 + Karma = GoPro is Back

I lost my GoPro4 Black somewhere top of Snowmass last winter
It was 12F that day and glue just gave out and fell off of my helmet while I was coming down.
Seems like it's time to buy a new one.

Rather than start a new thread, this seems as good a place as any.

I got a GoPro HERO 5 BLACK for Christmas. I unpacked it read the directions a bit. and then pushed it to the side.
How hard to get this thing going?
I think I will most likely do a bit of skiing footage and some MTB footage.

I do not wear a helmet, how do I attach this thing to me when I ski> Bike ?

Any tips on this; what you buy to mount this thing, what you do, Would be appreciated.

    U seriously don't use a helmet when u MTB ? U crazy.

They make chest mounts, and handlebar mounts... I personally think both perspectives totally suck, and are almost useless without the addition of a gimbal.

Head mount is ideal. Best point of view, and much more stable picture. I think they make headband mounts ( like a headlamp strap). I have also seen a mouth piece that's popular with water sports bros and some snowboarders. Looks awkward as fuck to ride around with a camera attached to a mouth guard all day, but... ya know ....helmets.

Chest mount for skiing. Handle bars or chest mount for bike.

If you don’t catch it on film, did it really happen?

What else would you suggest then? He does not wear a helmet.

I guess he could use one of those mouth mounts that some surfers seem to like.

Never chest mount. Never. Ever. At least for skiing. Mtb, maybe.

Also, MTT, why'd you have to go and bump a thread by lord spamalot?

I see lots of people without helmets just using a goggle top mount.

Chest mount footage is garbage, even from the very best skiers.

Hum, Goggle mount sounds interesting. I wear my Maui Jim's unless its storming but I could do that.

Is that mount in this box of stuff that came with the thing, or something I gotta buy> Lots of little parts and pieces with covers over them "Adhesive stuff"?

I agree chest mount is garbage from a pov. Goggle and headstraps suck for attach points afaic to tho to cause I've never seen one that didn't film without shakes and wobbles. Helmets add quite a bit of stability. You could try straps, but expect aggravating results

If actually using this thing is such a chore for you, just wait until you have to edit the video you take.

You should probably just sell it and buy a ski helmet.

Chest mount footage seems to be better than footage from a helmet mount ime.

^^ you must have a fetish for knees or something- that’s literally the only time I’ve ever heard anyone suggest that.

Maybe it's because I'm tall, but my helmet footage from my gopro is garbage. It just looks like white snow passing by and you can't even see my body. The only thing the frame captures is my ski tips
