Oct 23-28: Ski Mountaineering in Ecuador
Want to get some shoulder season action? I am heading to Ecuador for a work trip and tacking on some ski mountaineering with Pablo Puruncajas, an Ecuadorian AMGA certified guide -- and as far as I know, the only Ecuadorian national certified as a ski guide. http://www.goandestrek.com/meet_guides.html
He spent many years living in Seattle and still guides for Mountain Madness so he's in town from time to time -- some PNW locals may know him -- and is fairly confident at this stage that there will be enough snow to ski Cayambe (5,790 m/18,996 ft) and Antisana (5,758 m/18,891 ft). If not, well, there's always good old mountaineering sans ski.
Looking for 1-2 people to join me and defray costs of the trip. PM me for more details. Dates are fixed at October 23-28 +/- one day on either side, but basically it's set for that week.

cayambe is a fun ski not as crowded as the other two C's. Curious what you are doing for work down there?
