Love the hummingbird pics. Our two feeders have been local hotspots since mid Apr. Both Anna’s and Rufus, with the Rufus so aggressive of its territory.

Sad when kitty brought a shiny male Rufus to her bed, her so proud.

Came across this guy on the trail tonight. Seemed injured as he could only fly a short distance. When I got a bit closer to take a look he stood his ground like this. Then when I backed off, just stood there and watched me. I called the humane society and based on my description and sending the photo they figured he was a fledgling still learning to fly and not injured.

Hopefully he figures it out soon as there are lots of coyotes around and even the odd bobcat. Found the remains in second pic not far away from this, already pretty well picked over.

A family of Cooper's Hawks has decided that our part of Vermont is just perfect for them. Was sitting here perusing TGR when I heard a ruckus on the deck. A big hawk caught a chipmunk in the open on the deck and nailed it. It's devouring it as I type this. Can't get close to it outside so took a pic or 2 through the screen on my window...

We were halfway up Wolf's Head in the Winds--a vertical sided granite peak, and there was a pika bridging in a vertical crack like a climber.

Pikas are the coolest critter ever. Never get tired of watching them, especially when they're nest building.

This bull was posing for the 'gram on Sunday, got to watch him for over an hour. He strolled out of the trees and bedded himself by the water, all you could see for a while was the rack. He eventually got up and wandered in and out of the water eating. The zone is too swampy for people to get close so nobody bothered him but he had a major audience:

Charlotte had her first contact with wildlife, this ground squirrel really wanted a piece of her fig bar. No luck though, she's super possessive of her food. She managed to touch it and I don't think I've ever seen her that excited...
