Starting to see black bears. I’ve seen what I’m convinced is the same young bear a couple times. Came around a turn on a climb and saw him lumbering up the trail ahead. I stopped and cleared my throat and he ran a few steps and turned to look back. We stared at each other for a good ten seconds while I decided what to do. Finally, I started pedaling towards him and he scrambled up the hill off the trail. So cool. Wish I’d had the wherewithal to take a pic.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

A combination of mild winters and low hunting pressure and Vermont has seen a surge in black bears. This one decided to see what all of the commotion was about at a back yard birthday party.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

I took some slowmo iPhone video that turned out cool.
I'd love to see that. I love my slomo hummingbird vids. They sound cool too. I now have seen 3 pileated woodpeckers this summer, after seeing zero until now.

Bunny explosion in Issaquah WA. I think this one is pooping, so I’m making an emoji out of this. Better in close-up for the emoji?

the walking paths run next to the creek so sometimes they are close when you come across them and they are biiig
I might have a video somewhere of one of the adults that we came across a couple yrs ago hissing at us

Yes it is a snail. Looks like an aquatic one, not sure what its doing g on a door...looking for a bathtub? you might want to drai. that bath water occasionally, it's starting to get swampy.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Oh the thought crossed my mind, but unlike some folks in the sidearms thread I don’t carry a tactical 870 in the subie. And the neighbors might look askance at ground sluicing one out of season within the city limits

It was the best backyard wildlife experience we've had since moving to PC 8 years ago. After they had their tryst, they hung out in the yard for few hours. Super cool lawn ornaments.

Did an Alaska trip about a month ago. My first. It was excellent. Saw 53 grizzlies. The closest was about 300 yards. All they were interested in was blue berries.
