Also saw 8 flickers picking at the ground in my neighbor's front yard, don't think I've ever seen that many in one place

Not sure if this is the thread for this or not, but are there spiders in the PNW that can kill and eat a mouse? Just found a dead mouse in my shed that was completely hollowed out but otherwise intact. That’s the only thing I can think of that would do that.

No, I hurried and threw it away because the dog was getting very interested. Didn’t think to snap a pick until it was thrown away.

Those salmon are dope. I’m always amazed at how they overcome all the upstream obstacles
    Cool creepy crawlies recently too.

Just spent nine days on the lower Colorado River with the wife and adult kids. This little guy was curled five feet from my daughter and SIL's trap. The next night one was next to my wife and my trap. Very mellow little guys, didn't seem to care in the least we were near by.

Colorado pink rattle snake for those who want to know. We saw a total of three on the trip, which is two more then I have ever seen on any trip of the last 45 years.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

So you trap snakes when you car camp? I don't get it.

Looks like I got auto corrected...tarp, not trap. We were rafting in Grand Canyon.

Tons of big horn sheep on the trip, most I have ever seen on a Green or Colorado river trip (this was my fourth), or other trips through AZ or UT. Probably saw 6-8 per day. One peregrine, but no condors, a couple eagles, several osprey and an assortment of other cool critters, but no time to take many pics from a paddle raft or kayak.

Quite honestly, I think it's the dryness. I'm seeing 20+ eagles per week, way less osprey, and more animals coming down to the river. Everything is just vapid. And all the while, these "farmers" are pumping out hay like it was a huge win in Vegas. I wonder what Vegas feels like?

Saw lots of great wildlife in Yellowstone last week, as expected, so no pics. It’s not interesting to see deer here, but this one is laying next to the front deck.

^ we have a pet town deer herd in east Jackson.
Hope you enjoyed your time in our little slice of gads country. Interestingly the newspaper said today that last weekend was almost at 100% occupancy in town when it’s usually winding down around now.
Since you didn’t get any pics here are a couple fun ones I don’t think I have posted yet from our first decent snow of the yr a few wks ago
