Jesus christ, there is some serious whining going on in here... be courteous, use your fucking head and stay safe out there. The bicyclist is vulnerable, don't be a dick driving a car and don't put yourself in a dangerous situation if you're on a bike. It's not rocket surgery!

You've helpfully reminded all of the people in cars they aren't nearly as important as the people on bikes.

I did mean to quote you, but not to say you're whining. More that your example of seeking out quiet roads is far more practical than some of the comments here.

I get that some people commute on a bike, but if you're just out for a ride for fun or exercise (yes, I know most people are actually training for a very important race, where they have no chance of winning but will still receive a highly coveted "finisher" t-shirt) riding two wide or riding w/ 20 of your closes friends and running stop signs, are total douche moves!

Gotcha. Riding a tight 2 up group is actually easier to pass if you are doing a safe pass in a lot of situations but you have to be aware and single out where appropriate. You can even wave cars through if you have a better view of the road ahead. That's what my crew try to do. We aren't perfect but we do try. 99% of drivers do the same

A few days ago I began my mtnbike ride at the south side parking lot, entered the traffic lane with no visible cars for the less than 1/8 of a mile probably before turning left on to Galbraith lane. I had my dog on a leash and cars were parked along the shoulder so I was riding in the traffic lane. A car approached from behind me, so I used my left arm to point left as I went to turn left well ahead of my turn. Just as I went to turn, out of this fuckers way, they tried to pass me.

^^ What is needed is a video breakdown of this incident to determine who was in the wrong. Also, a racial description of car's occupants, i.e., white, hispanic, black, orthodox jew, etc.

Ok. Based on that, I conclude what you experienced is an angry lesbian encounter. Aggressive male tendencies in a woman behind the wheel is a bad mix. You're fortunate to have pedaled away from this incident.
