    http://www.confessionsofaskibum.com/

    fernie has "raging elk hostel"

watch for freezing levels at KH and Fenrie. Makes for some fun slush, but mornings can be a bit firm

banff area will still be winter in most fun terrain on hill

We're heading to Radium/Pano for their closing weekend. Bringing bikes and skis. The trails around Radium were in great shape a few weeks ago. Have a safe Easter everyone!

Thanks! Kloosifier was fantastic on Friday afternoon. By today, the trails in Radium were starting to get dusty in places.

This is a bit last minute, it would seem to be a ongoing theme to my life these days, anyhow...

Flying out to Calgary tomorrow night with a friend; where are going to SSV for a CSCF course.

Trying to find deals for lift tickets (I've noticed a few online) for this weekend and after the course and cheap place to stay (when I'll be solo (Sat 29 to May 2). I've taken a few extra days and flying out later than my friend. Now trying to figure out how to get 3 pairs of ski in one bag which doesn't exceed 50lbs.

Looking to ski Louise also, Nakiska (this Saturday on our way to Banff)...is there anything else open? I don't see anything other than SSV, LL, Nak...and Marmot is a bit far. Maybe the Dive on that last weekend if conditions are right....now where will I fit that any gear without going over 50 lbs.

kijiji banff/canmore has some ticket deals.

2 hostels are in banff, and most hotels should have deals avail.

if you are looking for groomers, nakiska, other then that ignore it. SSV and LL are both skiing VERY well

    Thanks mntlion!!!

I had already seen a few on Kijiji.

Nakiska stop should only be on a travel day on this Saturday from Calgary to Banff + I've never skied it (adding to my collection of Olympic hills destinations).

SSV and Louise should be my focus after he course is done. If the Dive is still open after April 28, I liked to try to get a partner to ski it with.

It's official, I can't get 3 pairs of ski in one ski bag and keep it under 50lbs. I'm about 5lbs over with nothing else.

The question, and I've been on hold with AC for the last 20 minutes, is to find out if the extra charge for overweight luggage ($113) is extra to the 2nd bag cost ($39)? The debate is, do I bring the SL and GS and rent some all-mountains for a few days or I pay extra?

Generally if you are pleasant you can often get away with it. Usually a ski bag counts separately from my experience. Bring your skis of you want them.

I only brought 2 pairs of race skis for the course (no way of getting it under 50lbs) so now I'm looking for a place to rent good skis for 1-3 days for a cheap price in the Canmore/Banff area.

Okay, I need to get going and head for the hills, Nakiska today, tomorrow (LL or SV) ?

    Thanks in advance.

I know this is a long shot Mad one, but if you're coming to cowtown I've a pair of new 195 GS race skis you can use immediately. I'll be coming to Louise Wed night (could deliver to you) if that helps.

Thanks Gary, but I brought my own SL and GS skis. Skied on rental at Louise today. Louise saw every type of conditions and weather today. My next rental ski day will probably be Sat-Mon.
