Biketown USA/Canada - best cities to live in for MTB in North America?

I don't ride WP much and also don't DH (I've ridden idlewild trails a couple of times and they're nice but not amazing). What's really weird is this: some people tout WP as super awesome riding and others like you say just the opposite. I don't know which ones to believe!

i'll agree with the first, if you are not riding treasle, WP is OK at best for trail riding. they aren't spectacular in my book, ho hum riding. nothing really too epic there backcountry wise.

I think this thread needs a variant question: What is biketown USA for people who like powder and dislike hot weather? But, I think I already know the answers of Squamish, Bellingham, Kootenays, etc.

The suggestion of Concord/Manchester NH as an ideal location to live is amusing to me, having grown up riding nearby.
