Fred Beckey movie on kickstarter
Of all the climbers that deserve a movie being made about them, Fred Beckey is probably the most deserving in my opinion. Give to the kickstarter or don't, but I doubt any climber could say they wouldn't be interested in hearing this guy's story.

Someone smarter than I should post the trailer in this thread.

Awesome. What a character
My buddy and his wife were visiting their guide friends in jasper and having a nice dinner and a lil vino. Just happens that Fred was in town and planning some climbs. He was crashing at their place. He joined them for dinner. Had a great meal and chatted up the wives, barely talking to the guys. The couples continued with another glass of wine after dinner. Fred abruptly got up, grabbed his sleeping bag . Gave it a shake , while my friends covered their glasses, and threw his bag on the floor and was snoring awAy in minutes. Priorities. What a legend

I'm in. I've been fortunate enough to share a few meals with Fred and even ski a couple of "powder" runs with him. I've totally witnessed the showing up in your driveway for an unexpected visit before. My friend has also told me stories of waking up in the early morning to find Fred in his underwear, making coffee on a campstove, using a headlamp, in his kitchen.

Wow, ten bucks? That would have been enough to support Fred for a week.
I will have to check it out.

I bought it and would have paid much more for it.
It was an awesome move that not only gave a sense of his climbing prowess and IMMENSE breadth of climbing, but also exploring who he was as a person.TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

+1 I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Watching him in his later years was poignant and inspiring. Highly recommend watching it.

watched the first half only so i could savor te movie over multiple days. fkna so good. if anyone is frugal it costs half as much on google play vs apple to ‘own’ but the movie is a deal at twice the price.

I enjoyed it as well. Really struck me how little of his life was documented in photos. Even less in video. He's super old in nearly all the video bits.

I've got a scratchy old movie of his team climbing the NW face of Denali. Fred himself let me download it to my computer off of a hard drive he had.
It's a 16 minute version of this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUbIkFeku0g
