My sister has brain cancer
This has been a shitty week, probably the worst week of my life. We found out last Monday my sister, 49, had a mass on her brain. On Thursday, after a biopsy, it was confirmed she has stage 4 glioblastoma. A crushing and devastating diagnosis. I flew home to Alabama this weekend and helped my other sister tell the kids who are 16 and 13. That was the hardest thing to do ever! The tumor is in a spot that they don't think is safely operable. It has impacted her language as she can only say short words or phrases, can't write or text. My wife specializes in cancer as a NP but curious if anyone else here has suffered from this beast. I could use all the positive vibes I can get.

I just got a pit in my stomach reading that. Thoughts and prayers to your sister, you and your entire family. That is horrible news.

I wish I could help or offer advice. My wife had a brain tumor removed in 2000. As she wasn't suffering any symptoms, it was found accidentally due to other medical issues. Luckily, it was probably the most fortunate type of brain tumor (if there is one), a Meningioma. About the size of a nickel, close to her skull and was removed easily.
Hang in there, support the family as you can, and hope for the best.

Serious vibes to you and your sister, that's an extremely difficult prognosis. There are several immunotherapies in stage III clinical trials for glioblastoma that may hold promise but are still in the expermental stage, have your sis talk to her doctor about this approach.
Move upside and let the man go through...

I know two people in the past year diagnosed with brain cancer. I'm sure you know the outlook is not good. My only advice is to do what you can for them and their family. It will be a tough road. Stay strong for them!

Been going thru this with a family member for a couple of years. Radiotherapy and aggressive steroids have helped a lot...speech and cognitive abilities largely rebounded.
Perhaps I missed it in your post, but what non surgical options have been discussed?
