Huge decent in golden BC
Big afternoon of biking with 8000 ft down, 3000ft up over 35km. (bigger, longer, and WAY more alpine than "whole enchilada" in Moab
This is in Golden BC, Park one car at the bottom of the kicking horse ski area road, and drive up to the hill, Get a Gondi ticket, and then ride/hike over T1,2,3 & 4. This section is T4

That connects to LSD,

to canyon creek,

up 2%

and back down/across on CBT mainline

back to truck.
Pics are of just the Alpine/T4 trail.

Nice. Psyched to ride this one. Unrelated but any trail recs between Cranbrook and Golden? Pano bike park worth a rip? Trail bike style preferred.

Yes, on trail forks, and VERY well marked
park at Lillian lake, ride trail down to Klosifier, and back up to Johnson. 25km? for both. If you want more, add in some of the newer stuff on the inside of the Johnson loop ("rockin the flume" is slower & techy, and "double D" is jumpy) but all well signed and on trailforks.

I see the new trails are all on trail forks now. The original Johnson-Kloosifier is good. Johnson clockwise -> connector -> Kloos (direction is on TF) -> back along the connector then finish the Johnson.
If you want to add new stuff in after then Arch Potential -> Apple Pie -> Workshop -> Rock 'n the Flume.
Johnson area (i.e. Lake Lillian) is good in hot weather - jumping in Lake Lillian is awesome after a hot ride.
Also lots of fun riding in Cranbrook (Community Forest / Chewbakka Rocka ) & Kimberley (nature park), all on trail forks.
Edit: I ran into 2 bears riding Golden earlier this week, Mountain Shadows & Moonraker/CBT. Make noise! new fun jumpy trails in CBT/Moonrakers this year, they are always adding stuff.

This T4 trail is currently in the queue for being sanctioned. Fun rip that many people have been discovering over the past couple of years. Each year it rides better and better!

I was wondering about that. With it starting on the ski area, and being kinda techy, was not sure anyone was going to (or wanted to) claim it. Good to hear that. Could be a good marketing push for Golden, and good for the person starting a shuttle company in town too.

Well dang... that might just eat up one of the free weekends I was gonna spend doing boring, normal, around the house shit.

Shhhh. This never happened. It is all photoshoped. Do not come to Golden. It is a small hellhole on the side of a sketchy as fuck dangerous road that some call a "highway".
Move along. Nothing to see here but lame, flat, trails that are all out and backs.
Can more, Banff, Bernie, and Revelstoke are WAY better. Go there instead...
