What's on yer walls?
Curious what the maggot collective has hanging up around their dwellings. Retro skis, bike frames, old fishing poles, posters, other creative things? Also, anything that has a story attached to it.
Post pics of what you got.Last edited by east or bust; 06-20-2016 at 07:56 AM. Reason: grammerz

Oil paintings, Western and mountain themes. Mostly from my Grandmother, she was pretty good. Have the Crystal Mill, one that looks just like the Gunnison Valley looking east towards Monarch, etc. etc.

Lowest level is generally lounge/drinking/music/sport themed, mid level is boring pastoral oil painting shit and upper level is where we hang crap our family gave us that is ugly. Depending upon who comes over, we change what's hanging. My godnut SIL gave us one of those hideous bespoke "quote" pictures with our names in it somewhere. Come to think of it, we had to hang one of those fucking quote pictures up in one of the girls rooms.
Anyone else's home held hostage by stupid quotes on the wall?

Not much on the walls in my house until I'm done retexturing and painting. But what's going on the walls:
Old CL Simond piolet picked up at a flea market. (I couldn't get myself to buy it the first day and went back to get it the second and it was gone. Turns out, my mom heard I was looking at it and bought it and told the people to not tell me it was her. She gave it to me for my birthday last year.)
Some old skis.
Refinishing an old four pane barn window and putting ski/mountain pics behind each pane.
My newest addition is a 12x18 pic that Norseman took of me skiing off Fortune peak this year. Totally badass. I'm just a black speck amongst the shadows of the mountain. Thanks again Norse.
Eta: No fucking stupid quotes going on my walls. I'd rather unplug your septic than have that crap hanging. Sorry commonlaw

Always love a good mom and dildo jokes. Nice Magic Mtn. piece.
We got some Hudson River School paintings, Family events and outings stuff.
Ski related, a couple of race panels and signed by Orville Slutsky (rip)
Does near a wall count? Local artist made sporting scenes utilizing the veins in pieces of marble. fishing, sailing, golfing, I got one that represents me and 2 close friends skiing...

Rim shot!
You'll be sorry you asked that question: We're into art, all kinds. Lots of photos, lithos, paintings...some by (semi-)famous people. We have way too much so the walls are full and we have to rotate the hangings. Some of it:
Man Ray set (most of it)
Chatham
Reginald Marsh and Willard Clark
Tamayo
Anuszkiewicz

We have a silk painting that I got after my Grandmother passed away. I have no idea how old it is, or where she got it, other than that it came from Japan. We're not sure if it came over before or after the war. My Dad remembers it being in the house, but just that it was always there. No recollection of when.
When we got it, it was still in the cheap frame she had it hanging in. We took it in to Michaels to have it re-framed, and when they opened the frame, they we discovered that it was much larger than what was showing. I guess the only frame she could find was too small, so she folded the sides over and just kept the middle section. We kept as much of the original as we could framed. You can see where it was folded over by the faded colors.
