We have that pic of tux in my kitchen. We have a chalk board where I draw pics of dicks and write notes to my GF about how hot her ass is and the things ill do to her when I get home from work. We have a lot of mirrors. What we dont' have up is all this signed sports stuff from my GFs days working with a sports memorabilia broker. That stuff is awesome.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

4matic, I've owned that Calder "asymetrie" lithograph for almost 30 years. Its been moved around abit, but I've never tired of it enough to part with it.
A few months ago I "hesitated" a bit too long on a J. Miro lithograph- oh well, altleast I dont have to eliminate my whisky budget!Scientists now have decisive molecular evidence that humans and chimpanzees once had a common momma and that this lineage had previously split from monkeys.

No mention of the North American Trouser Trout in that poster.

^ Good idea...
We have an "only art by friends or family" policy. Saves on dough and the stuff actually means something to us.
This is a friend who I traded a skylight installation for several pieces. He has recently gained a great deal of notoriety, so maybe they'll actually be worth something?
Either way, I still love them:

So this is kinda timely and weird. I was thinking of this thread as I was walking around the house. So I saw this piece on the wall we've had for awhile. I call it a "piece" because it's more mixed media.
I actually like it a lot even though it's odd. My wife and I love art and have spent middling dough on certain stuff but this particular thing was interesting and free. We had a mess of drinks years ago in a Seattle burg, found this is an alley next to a dumpster and brought it home. Anyway, I took this picture a few minutes ago and then realized the bottom right frame was peeling. I lifted it farther than I should and found this writing.
I'm not going to pull it back farther for now, but am really interested in the rest.
And as bonus material, this is in my den. My grandfather homesteaded land in Hawaii before it was a state and would skin dive with few local resources. These are the goggles he created for himself out of wood. And apparently the medals, Jeebus knows why they are in there, were in recognition of graduating first in his class at Georgetown undergrad and first in his class Georgetown Med.

What's o yer walls?
Reads like the message is discussing theme of the art, bug under the glass. Cool piece of art.

Just hung this today. Buddy painted it as a thank you. I wasn't sure at first, but I really like it up on the wall.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Soon to be hung, sorta commissioned acrylic from a local rad artist
You can see the present-day Buffet in the background looking over his shoulder as his younger self...
One of my aunt's originals, a mandala sort of thing of the Chinese Zodiac characters
A Huichol yarn painting bought a couple dozen years ago...
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.
