15/16 picture dump
I'm procrastinating and bored, which are both valid reasons to go through old pictures.

November:
First snow took its time.
And it wasn't a lot.
Didn't really snow in December. Went to Canada.
January had it's moments:
Moodswings in February between depressed
and pretty fun.
Snowpack was sketchy throughout
And there really just wasn't a lot of snow in general.
Taking the steam drill for a walk
Bit of scenery.
Colours of the rainbow

Marius displaying poor attitude
Marius & freak pulling themselves together between bouts of complaining about everything.

Marius figures this isn't so bad.
freak starts complaining again.
March: weather remains soso.
Well this is okay I guess.
This too.
Out for a stroll.

And another one.
Wind acting up.
More crusty than it looks.

Scenery is alright.
Mountain has a hat.
More strolling
Hiking trails not in ideal conditions.
April: Oh look, it's sunny and it snowed a tiny bit, I bet there wont be any people at all.
Yup, we're all alone.
But once again the scenery is alright.
Tyrol's highest

This is what it looks like when dust from the Sahara gets blown to Austria.
Makes the snow sticky.
But it got buried soon enough. Beautiful day, too bad it was a work outing.
Work work work work note dust layer
Good commute though.
More work
Krippenstein
YAY we're digging another hole
What could possibly be more fun?
Maybe this?
May wasn't super productive and it's been raining all of June.
Oh well. I really need to figure out a good summer activity.

Thanks as always.
So, hey what's with the dust layer? Really Saharan? Volcano?
Curious. Dug lots of holes in the ground for geotech test pits and have seen layers of ash at depth in NWBC.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Yes, really Saharan. It's quite common. We frequently have southerly or SW flows and all you need in addition to that is enough wind and turbulence in the desert to get the dust up high enough. Like so (NASA sat image google found):
Apparently plants in the Amazon rely on Saharan dust for fertilization, kinda cool imo. We mostly just get red snow. Not a lot of volcanos around here, those in southern Italy are quite active but the ash doesn't go up high enough to be blown to the Alps.Ich bitte dich nur, weck mich nicht.

That's cool! The photo really shows what you're talking about thanks. We'd get red snow in the Coast range but apparently that's a form of pollen. Nasty shit, you need to use white gas to clean the bases and re-wax to get rid of the klister effect.
