stupid fucking flat brim ball caps

Wierd bump but… I got a few flat brims recently for free, and I find I like them for driving with sunglasses, since I can lay the brim right on the frame. Don’t need the car’s visor as much, especially when driving right into the sun.
None of them really fit my head, though. It seems that leaving them flat makes them sorta less round in the front against my forehead. so I’ve just been wearing them 4 sizes too big so they go over my ears.
    Like the kids do.

Yeah flat brims are not cool anymore. Dad hats and bucket hats are in.

Flat brims are definitely lame again. Except in the fashion capital of Breck.

I have seen far more "dad" style strap-back hats worn backwards by frat bros on my college campus in the past three years than flat brim hats. I'm in my early 20s and have no interest in wearing one haha

im thankful the flat brim era is over. Never stopped wearing my dad caps and have been leaning into bucket hats for a while. I hope those don’t be a thing now and ruin my flow

I don’t really love the flat brim either but it also feels weird to intentionally bend a brim like some lame ass conformist fearing ridicule by the flat brim haters. It’s a confounding conundrum. I usually just go bed head these days.

But this thread bump proves I'm out of it and flat brim is still in (despite it ugliness and impracticability).
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

And road bikers seem to like those little 2" brims that are curved up and just serve as advertising space. Maybe there was a historic reason for the shape?

Richardson 112, the pinnacle of hat form and function.

The other hats I've been wearing lately are 5-panels without a button on top, because they can be worn under a ski or bike helmet. Hard to find one without a flat brim, Smith made a good one.

I just wear a normal hat. Same as the 90’s

This may trigger some TGRians but this is the new flat brim equivalent

Now all I care about in this thread is the proper name for people who populate TGR.

    TGRians? TGRers? TGRists?

This is important. What’s the answer?
