After talking for 8 years about skiing the NE flank of Mount Hinman, Randy and I pulled it off this weekend. Great tour.

That's the Peggy's Pond trail, a bit scrambly but not too bad. Trail/camp shoes are in pack because the PP trail is a 20 minute carry between skiing. We skied down to a couple hundred verts above Squaw Lake.

Ah, nice one! Those slopes sure look nice from Mt Daniel.

At what elevation did you find skinnable snow on the approach?

Around 5000', a bit above Squaw Lake. Skis off for the SW aspect melted-out stretch from just over Cathedral Pass until a bit below Peggy's Pond. Plenty of snow to ski on Mt. Daniel, e.g., Hyas cirque, Daniel Glacier. We saw lots of ski tracks in the former, none on the latter. Lynch Glacier looked great (although we surprising saw no ski tracks) but Pea Soup Lake is melting fast so it might be best to ski the Lynch from the top and skin back up it.
