Skiing all of the county highpoints in Utah
I recently finished a 2+ year project to ski off the highest point in every county of Utah. I got the idea from my friend Layne Caldwell who is on a more long term pace to finish it. None of the 26 highpoints are lower than 9k and most of them are higher than 11k. I skied all of them in single day trips without the aid of snowmobiles. The Uinta peaks were the most difficult because they are all over 30 miles roundtrip. The project gave me a greater appreciation for the incredible diversity of terrain in Utah and the large amount of good ski terrain that is almost completely ignored by the masses.
Here are some pics from some of my favorite highpoints
Ellen, Henry Mountains
Ibapah, Deep Creek Range
Mine Camp, Pavant Range
Waas, La Sals
Looking south from Brian Head Peak towards Cedar Breaks
Sfotex on Willard Peak
Deseret
Nebo
Thurston
Eccentric, Uintas
Delano, Tushars
South Tent Mountain, Wasatch Plateau
Kings
Utah has much to offer beyond the Wasatch! Maybe I'll try to ski all the Nevada county highpoints next...Last edited by Mark H; 06-01-2016 at 08:35 PM.

Badass! Awesome shots. How was the access to Mt Ellen / what time of year did you go? That's one my wife and I are dying to get to.

Thanks guys!
JTrue and I approached Mt Ellen from Birch Creek (north side) and we were able to drive a jeep to about 6500 ft in January. Most people approach it from the Sawmill Basin road which seems to be the easier way.

Fun joining on a couple of these. Remember how good those turns down Thurston were!
