Smart enough at the right time in the right place to make enough money fast enough to play with the world as his toy.

Didn't mean he was dumb at all when I wrote that. Smartest guy in the world is a pretty high bar. I didn't get your corporate clown reference either but it's nice to talk to you.

Only for one company, no?
Capitalism!!!!!
The tech review article from last year is applicable https://www.technologyreview.com/s/5...reat-man-myth/ I don't quite understand the masturbatory froth that bubbles up when people talk about him online but he's been involved in some very cool projects.

No opinion on which he is but I was reading an article on batteries, the Giga Factory, battery technology, etc. Tesla recently hired a "battery genius" to help design new technology. What I did not know is the current technology is not anything special. The S model has a 900 lb battery pack with 6831 individual lithium ion batteries. The estimate is that after five years of 10,000 miles per year the battery pack will lose 30% of their capacity. Not sure of the replacement cost once the pack, I saw prices ranging from $12,000 to $29,000 depending on when you buy the pack. Seems that Tesla offers (or did offer ) an option to buy a replacement pack for a deep discount at the time of vehicle purchase. My guess is that price includes the disposal of the old batteries. The Model 3 lower priced sedan likely will not qualify for the tax credit of $7500. The federal tax credit applies to the first 200,000 that Tesla manufactures so the tax credit will be gone by the time the M is available.

I think he's a greater visionary than Steve Jobs ever was. That said I don't know and don't care if that makes him a clown in some people's eyes. I for one am glad he's around doing his thing.
Ever see the movie "Tucker?"
