Dumbfree SpaceX is a profitable business that has taken over the industry and knocked competitors out. Russia got utterly destroyed by spacex
ULA is only persistent due to entrenched government contracts. Spacex is winning over 65% of contracts and growing in a market that is also growing.Originally Posted by blurred

Hey, wait, just hear me out on this. What if you had big cars attached to each other in that tunnel, oh, say, six or seven of them holding maybe 100 people each. There would be frequent stops at stations along the way, where people could exit or board the cars. Sure, they could be self driving, the tech is there. Whatdoyathink? What would we call this new contraption..........

Musk is certain his planned 12,000 starlink sats won't fuck up the night sky for astronomers

What’s ridiculous is all of us arguing for three years about who posted what when all our opinions were changing rapidly. The most delayed conversation ever. A twenty minute conversation held over 3 years, yeah nobody really remembers what they said 2 years ago and so they become indignant about stupid shit. remember when you said you have a feeling Elon MIGHT be a fraud. Internet is a weird place to be.

the Tesla "debate", just like Musk fanboyism, or Trump supporters, or many things online is most noticeable for how < little > opinion changes and just how hard it is to shift the narrative meaningfully once positions have been entrenched - not how much opinions change over time. 6 years later you can find much the same Musk fluffery as exhibited in discussions about the Hyperloop - and 6 years later that "hyperloop" has evolved into a shitty tunnel with cars aka a low throughput, high cost, unsafe "solution".

It's comical that you compare musk and trump in the same breath now that he is the president.
I didn't care about trump's business and still dont. Would never support any of his golf courses or hotels and surely would quote or sell him anything for a construction project. But who cares...nobody. I feel the same about musk. Don't like it, don't buy in or buy what he's selling. Nobody cares. He just a businessman.

^ha!
Tesla has made it's way into my area. You'd typically see maybe one a month a year ago and now I see multiple a day.

That's not a pickup truck. Pretty much like Bruce Jenner going under the knife and calling himself female.

just watched this documentry
it was pretty disturbing, to think that at least half of silcon valley and these start ups are people full of shit with hanger ons hoping to get rich off of at least one fucked up idea
https://www.hbo.com/documentaries/th...silicon-valley
the best quote and I paraphrase had something to do with: if silcone valley is making an app with a cute emoji that's one thing, but when your playing with a human life that's another, pretty much silcone valley shouldn't be be buildling self driving cars and medical devices because it's so far out of their realm

Well, this is encouraging. Maybe they should get together with Boeing engineers for a few brews.
