    This doesn't sound good.

Elon Musk's Twitter Hacked: More Than 5.4 MILLION Users' Data Released, Including A-Listers' Private Emails & Phone Numbers

    Edit fixed link: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/techn...rs/ar-AA14KBUh

I should add the context: Free speech Elon banned the guy who tweeted about the breach because of course.

That’s my assumption, though there’s always the chance he’s was just ignorant.

But assuming he was lying, what was the point? It seemed like it to pressure Apple to resume their spending, maybe, but that doesn’t make sense if the didn’t actually cut spending in the first place.

Other speculation I’ve seen is that it’s part of the fight regarding App Store fees. But how does lying about ad spending advance Twitter’s cause in that fight?

My guess is Elon is just a moron.

He’s a red pilled divorced dad playing hard for one side of the us culture war because that’s the only way out for him. He’s also surrounded by people who tell him he’s a genius, and a sociopathic liar.

Melding the human brain with a computer can’t be any harder than running a social media site, right? Who’s first.

Eh, I’m sure they’ll have it sorted out within the six month timeframe:

    Wait ..... 3,0000?!?!?!?
I'd looooove to see their Animal Use and Care Protocol, or even better, the discussion of said protocol by whatever they have that passes as an IACUC. Were they using wild-caught cynos???

The post about the user data leak is also false/questionable. The breach happened over a year ago, and has been in several earlier news cycles. The "new" development is the hacker posted it for free now. Previously the criminal wanted money. Couldn't fence it, dumped it on the street.

The other purveyors of "free speech" may not be bigots, but many are printing lies.

I think the inference is the freespeech absolutist narrative is obviously BS when faced with self-serving needs. Damage control (like this). Personal dislike. Etc. Amongst the various hypocritical actions that fly in the face of that claim. tldr; Trolly McPlugs is obvious, disingenuous troll.

Not that I'm defending Musk or consider him trustworthy whatsoever, just adding a little perspective.

Elon replying to Alex Jones post via Kanye’s account. Keep in mind Elon said Alex Jones was the one person he wouldn’t allow back on Twitter… oh, and also that Kanye was just praising Hitler and Nazis.

TahoeJ, how do think this will affect companies ad spending decisions?

A lot. If you're head of marketing at a company, getting called out (publicly or behind closed doors) with your ads on some page with whatever objectional content isn't worth the flack even if the campaign still performs. Having said that, I do have a number of click-bait type clients and they probably don't care, but if they don't have to compete against real brands that's even better for them and they'll start bidding less. Ironically, in this case with the anti-Jew stuff, the biggest click bait type publishers in the world are based out of Tel Aviv.

To keep the drama and attention coming, Elon is going to start dating Kim Kardashian so he and Ye can be Eskimo Brothers.

And definitely make more Musk spawn.

    Good info
Any comment about the effect of Apple’s allowing users to shut off tracking by apps?

I’ve read that like 85% of users shut off the tracking (I did), which in turn has reduced ad efficiency a lot.
    TIA
