It may be fairly accurate, but so many fucking people are not going to the hospital because they're fearful to go.

All this data is proving that the stay at home orders are working. Still, 62 fucking million people have died in how long...a few months? The first death was at the end of January. Did people die with underlying conditions...sure, but they still died and covid pushed their timetable forward by X.

My possible future son-in-law works in hospital operations in the Bay Area. The Kaiser hospital where he spent the past month has a bunch of Covid patients, but is overall well below capacity. So sure, the actual line on that chart is probably valid. The fact that he starts his graphs on April 1st leads me to think that Elon probably cherry-picked the data. And even at that, to me, that chart just shows that Gavin Newsom & London Breed and Sara Cody and a host of other officials deserve a pat on the back for sending us all home three weeks before that.

Elon is demonstrably brilliant, and yet somehow he's still nowhere near as smart as he thinks he is. I miss the '80s and '90s, when the Masters of the Universe were on Wall Street, and us techies still had some residual humility left over from getting picked last in gym class.
