    What is "business casual".

    This song has instructions

    We wore matador boots
Only Flagg Brothers had them with the Cuban heel
Iridescent socks with the same color shirt
And a tight pair of chinos
    Oh
I put on my shark skin jacket
You know the kind with the velvet collar
    And ditty-bop shades
    Oh yeah
I took a fresh pack of Luckies
    And a mint called Sen-Sen
    My old man's Trojans
And his Old Spice after shave
    Oh
Combed my hair in a pompadour
Like the rest of the Romeos wore
    A permanent wave
    Yeah
    We were keeping the faith
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
    Keeping the faith

There’s a time and place for almost everything, I’ve dressed, cut my hair etc. to look older for the last 10 years because I’m so much younger than my peers.

And not to be a dick, but if you are going to interview you should know something about the company.
Better yet someone at the company.
Dress like they dress but a bit nicer, its an interview.

In my last job office attire was "sharp casual" which is basically no shorts, no sandals no ripped jeans but I dressed for the clients I was seeing. Suits and ties for the big banks, buis casual above for the consulting firms, more casual for tech firms. but always professional.

Yep. Shoot to be about 25% nicer dressed than they are. Pretty good rule to follow for a lot of professional situations.

    This.

Example - my kids job is in experiential marketing. A kid shows up for an intial interview for an intern position wearing a suit. The whole office is in jeans, hoodies, super casual. Dogs, couches etc is the environment. He comes back for round 2 wearing a suit again. Guess what happened next? ...He's still looking for an intern job somewhere.

In my current greatbignetworkinfrastructureprovider environment most of the senior level managers and directors go with pressed button down shirt, nice jeans or dockers, JACKET, but NO TIE. Sketchers with no socks or Vans with socks.

I knew this would elicit some good responses.

It’s actually my 3rd or 4th interview, first in person though. Previous were phone and google hangout. Meeting 2 team members I have not met before, and the vp who I already spoke to last week.

Software industry services but client facing. People’s Republic. Maybe I should be careful what I say here....

    Will take viva’s attitude advice!

Working from home 90% of the time the past year, and pretty much in my pajamas the last month or so has not made this any easier ;-) Maybe I don’t even want a new gig?

One thing to do is look to see what the headshots look like on the About Us page, or the staged “working around the office” photos. Most places have them these days. Gives you a sense of what people wear to work.

Also you could check the profile photos on LinkedIn of who you are meeting with.

Good luck. They're probably just wanting to make sure you don't have a swastika on your face or anything else overly offensive. Leather shoes, pressed pants and button shirt, jacket optional. NO TIE.

Those are typically contracted out. They don't actually work for the marketing companies, eh, but the marketing guys who hire them know what they're doing.
