Feeler: Dana Design Bomb Pack, mint

Found this in a dusty corner of my basement - forgot I had this.
Original, made in Bozeman, pre-K2 buyout, Dana Design Bomb Pack. Pretty much unused. I think it's a medium harness - it fits me and I'm 5'9".

    Any interest?

I have a slightly smaller Humbug Spire that's identical in construction bought new in '88. Workhorse pack, seems indestructible.

A-frame carry would work fairly easily with the side compression straps. Diagonal would be tricky, unless you jury-rigged something with Voile straps or similar.

A-frame is easy and that's how I carry skis on mine.

"Feeler" meaning you should keep that thing. Best packs ever. Nothing comes close. I just took my new fancy Deuter out this past weekend for the 1st time. No comparison to my 25 yr old Dana Alpine.

Yeah if that was a large I'd be all over it.

Still rocking an old AstralPlane Overkill from back in my Wilderness Ranger days. That pack is fucking hudge and heavy but it carries a stupid load like no other.

    Also an old Bridger.

Nothing like the original Dana packs.

I really, really don't need this but if someone doesn't snap it up soon I might do something stupid.

What are you thinking of asking?

Buy it Bob. I sold mine to Teleken about 8 years ago I bet it's still going strong.

I'm tempted to purchase if only for sentimental reasons- so many good times had with a bomb pack on my back

How many times did you get hit in the back of the head by your Voile shovel?

Feeler: Dana Design Bomb Pack, mint

It was my backcountry ski pack. The big avalanche shovel would often hit you in the head.

It was designed for ski patrollers. That's why it's the Bomb Pack.

Blade goes in the beaver tail, handle in the pack. That's what I do.

It would be a great conversation starter at the TSA checkpoint if used as a carry-on bag.
