College Hockey
Excellent NoDak-Quinnipiac game on right now, still the first period.
But both NoDak and Quin barely have any kids from their home area. As much as I'm a Boston homer, BU and BC are at best maybe 30% local kids. But they could both fill a roster and be competitve nationally if they focused on the locals, no doubt in my mind.
I study rosters, I don't know why, but I do.
That's why I like Minnesota, (despite the fact that I don't like them at all). MN roster: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m...ockey-mtt.html
I love that roster, only 4 kids not from MN.

Fuck, 2-0 NoDak and it's still the first!
Come on New England (despite your stupid roster of people from all over the place)!

Honestly Q's roster is the worst, fuck them. http://www.quinnipiacbobcats.com/ros...key&print=true
1 kid from CT? Not that I love CT (I hate it), but that's where they are and there are a lot of good players there. There's 11 active players in the NHL from CT. Jonathan Quick?

NoDak's roster isn't much better, it's mainly Canadians, only 4 NoDak kids: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/rep...orth-Dakota/40

Danny O'Regan. Boston born and bred. I mean, if the name doesn't do it for you the location has to. Go BU.

Of course that works for me in a big way. But every kid on the roster should have an O' before his name. In my world.

College Hockey
Being a UND grad, I'd say this comparison is BS. Yeah the Sioux have 4 kids from ND but the state is 600,000 people. How many kids are within a 3 hour drive in either Manitoba or MN and its significantly more. Now that being said, I've been most surprised by the CO schools and the kids they have being from CO vs all from Canada, which is what it used to be. Also, some would say that would be the downfall of the UM hockey program, only taking on MN kids when the sport is exploding in places like CA, TX and AZ. Also, much like the Boston area, ND and MN has 6 D1 programs in the area. The B10 hockey conference has also hurt those schools.
Hell yeah on a UND win, long time coming and when the game was full strength tonight it wasn't even a match. Q's PP looked mighty salty though.Last edited by dtown; 04-09-2016 at 10:10 PM.

I'm just glad that it wasn't a BC/BU final!
The first non -Minnesota gopher was the first Alaskan to play D1Scientists now have decisive molecular evidence that humans and chimpanzees once had a common momma and that this lineage had previously split from monkeys.

BU knocks out number one seed Cornell and advances to the semis. (Sorry, BD.)
Go BU!

I was watching quite a bit of the various games this afternoon, nice win for BU. I really wanted Providence over Notre Dame, that last goal sucked, I thought it was going to OT. Saw a little bit of OSU-Princeton, I couldn't decide who I wanted to lose more.
BU-Michigan should be good tomorrow.

I was also rooting for Providence for a regional semi. Anyone over OSU. Fingers crossed for a competitive BU v. M tomorrow. Kind of like to see a BU (obviously) v. Minn D final at this point.
