Filing skimo style skin notch in carbon skis?

What's the conventional wisdom on filing a skimo race style notch in the tip of a carbon ski and then finishing with some epoxy to prevent moisture and delam? Will it mess with the structure of the carbon? (I really don't know much about carbon fiber). Will my skis explode?? Am I gonna die?

This would be on a pair of Blizzard Zero G 85s.

Drill a hole in the tip then use a dremel with a cutting disk to notch it out. Finish with some epoxy to seal it up..

I've also seen a metal L bracket with notch epoxied to the topsheet. Not nearly as safe but avoids drilling your ski (and voiding warranty).

Thanks for the info! I guess the warranty thing is an issue too.
