Head Carlos on the left, Boneshaker on the right. They're both the same ski.
And they can be scored super cheap. I just scored those Carlos w/sth16 for $150.
146-125-135---@191. Long straight forebody(widest point is at the turn of the tip, pretty long tip rocker, minimal camber underfoot and some tail rocker.

Skied G3 Highball(precursor to Empire line) yesterday back to back w/ Boneshaker. Love my G3's, but they do not have the versatility of Bones/Carlos. They check every box B is looking for except the fact they seem to be a touch wider than he's looking for

My 184 108s are going up on Gearswap if anyone is interested. Skied the 98s today and had a blast on some initially firm conditions that softened nicely in the afternoon. However, there is just too much overlap between the 108 and 98, I think the 98 fits my quiver better as a firmer conditions ski that is still pretty versatile.

Just to throw this out there: The 16/17 Monster 88 is a great low tide speedy carver. You can ski them with authority and get nice rounded turns out of them, or let them run straight with no speed limit. Really fun groomer/ spring ski. These things are freaking heavy and a bit plankier than my beloved ON3P's but they make low tide days fun again. The family of 88/98/108's def. fit the category of directional chargers worthy of attention.

I have the 83's and 98's.

i cannot say enough great things about these skis, but the 83's and 88's do need some speed to get anything out of them and the 83's I would guess marginally more so due to the slightly straighter side cut.

The build quality is top notch.

I got my 191s out in some heavy powder today. Lots of icey spots, and a few linked turns in 6in of untracked cream cheese. Great skis for those conditions. Float much better in heavy snow than they do in lighter powder, and they dont get hooky in the manky and/or refrozen stuff.

I was on the Devs today, felt a bit off balance, but I attribute that more to the snow than the skis. It was pretty challenging conditions, felt more like dust on crust in most places than powder.

Were you at Squaw? I asked some guy about 194 Devastators today, was that you? It was challenging conditions!.. I did find a nice spot right under the slot though, near the headwall lift line, where I could link some turns in 6-8in cheese. When the clouds rolled in, I couldn't differentiate the ice patches from dust stashes, and I almost fell a few times.

The 191 Monsters rip, but I definitely am looking for a more playful version. 191 Katanas are fun, but they don't inspire quite as much confidence. I'm more into weight, than flex, although Katanas really aren't that stiff. The 194 Devastators weight really is intriguing. At near 2700g/ski, that's close to what the 191 Monster weighs, yet it has the full rocker profile, and -5 mount. Fun, semi-jibby, steamroller?

The Devs are WAY more playful than the Monsters. Much more center mounted and of course full rocker. You can hip check on a dime to scrub speed if needed. Yet they have the weight and dampness to crush crud. They don't require you to be on your A game all the time, so you can noodle around without being punished.

Edge grip is not up to that of a Monster or cambered ski, but when they're new and edges are sharp, I had no complaints there either. They also do really well in funky snow, since the side cut is matched to rocker profile. Not quite on the BG level for weird snow, but not too far behind.

For me they work for 90% of the days. The question for you is whether you like them better than the Rx since that seems to be your 1 ski quiver of choice.

Had the M98s out today in some variable, hot pow on top of firm old snow. It was a tricky mix of sticky new and more consistent firm snow. At first I wanted to swap the Monsters out, but out of laziness, I kept them and they ended up doing great, especially once things firmed up at the end of the days. They absolutely ripped the refrozen crud, so damp and stable.

Had the 108s at Mammoth for a 3 days last weekend. Maybe the perfect Chair 23 ski. So fun. As long as the snow isn't too soft (slushy), they just rip the firmer steeper conditions. Really no other comparable ski on the market that I can think of. The 98 would have been awesome too, a tough call between them.

I skied a pair of the 191 boneshakers today in 8" of heavy smooh, and what an amazing ski! Unfortunatly I was mounted a bit far forward at -4 from true center(freestyle line) I think the freeride line at -8 would be way better.

The skis are probably on of the least hooky skis I have ever been on in heavy snow. The long taper in the tail just does not get hung up. They are super loose.

The heavy weight and un-tapered tip just plow through stuff and the layup is very damp and stable. They do not feel like they are 125mm underfoot.

Now i just need to find a pair that isnt delaminating....

Freestyle line is -5/Freeride-9. Mine Bones are mounted @ -8. Those Carlos I bought were further back, can't remember where, but didn't like em as much. I'm going -7 on the remount.
