    FS: Climbing Guidebooks

50-plus rock climbing guidebooks for sale. Mostly new condition unless noted otherwise. Obviously some of the info will be dated, but there are some minor classics here. The books are left over from a previous occupation as a guidebook editor, and I’d like to keep them in circulation rather than just toss them. Will post in Gear Swap too.

Any two for $25. Price includes shipping.

Has anyone mentioned www.summitpost.org? A great resource with a great climbing community.

It's not a book per OP's request but an amazing resource for climbing.

    Are useless in every thread?

OP didn't request climbing books. He's selling old classics.

Yeah, I'm selling guidebooks, not asking for them. But thanks.

Summitpost is a good resource for peak routes. I've used it quite a bit.

Mountainproject is okay for rock climbing, though the information is unvetted and not edited. But it is useful if taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

Interestingly, even with all the "user-generated" online resources these days, sales of paper guidebooks in the outdoor market have held up remarkably well. I say this as somebody with insider knowledge of sales figures. People get tired of looking at screens maybe? They want to kick back in their recliner and page through a book and dream of their next adventure. Scribble notes, check stuff off, whatever. I don't know for sure, I just know they keep selling.

    So buy one from me.

Yes, unfortunately not for sale. From our honeymoon 13 years ago. Here it is in case you want to track it down. Also willing to scan parts if you want specific information.

We spent a couple of days with Bryce showing us around the north island wharepapa area. So much development going on in the area that a lot of what we climbed wasn't in the book. Bryce and Wendy were awesome. Sad to hear the Cafe burned a couple of years ago. Hopefully they are on the road to recovery.
