Carvey 90-100mm groomer ski
Any recommendations on a late model carvey ski in the 90-100mm range underfoot? Looking for something for fast, GS/SG-radius turns on bad snow days. Mounting tele so need at least 90mm so I don't contact binding with snow when I lay them over. Current carvers are old Foils with fun sidecut but too narrow at ~85mm. Losing edge midturn when binding bottoms out is scary. Thanks.

I've tried all of the skis mentioned the E98 is hands down the one you described, better carver, damper and more stable than the others. Don't count on it floating too much but it skis exactly as you described, a big GS ski. Tremendous fun in wide open spaces. Of the 75+ skis I've demoed in the past 5 years I can't think of a better one than that.

Booting out. Heh. One of many reasons I went to The Dark Side years ago.
AK King Salmon is a fun tele hardpack ski if you can find a pair.

Rapid Transits absolutely rail tele on hardback, but they're getting pretty hard to find.

You can have my tele skis. They're only 50mm but I never had problems with booting out.
Or maybe Mantra?

^^^^ thats because I am sure the on tele you never got them that far over! :P
As everyone said Original E98 is what to look at.
The only ski I can think of that can out do that is a Hendryx 918 IF you can find one.

$350 for Fischer Motive 95s at L9; Motive 86s are cheaper than that, too. Someone buy the 180s so I avoid the temptation.

These are great and likely more versatile than the E98/100.
If you really want a carving ski for tele why not get something narrower and stack the bindings? They make risers for 75mm and NTN for WC tele racing. That will get you a whole lot more carving than a 90-100mm waisted ski.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will look out for a used pair of E98s or just try the W's version (though ahort).

Go a bit slimmer for proper craving, kastle mx88s or Fischer watea 88s or the wider ranger 98 if going below 90 isn't an option.

Another vote for the Motive, I got the 86. I'm sure the 95 is good too

hi
guys.
I search almost the same.
I loved the Mantra 13/14. Is there any ski from last season which has almost the same skills? very stiff/camber and big radius would be good
I have to use the ski offside, but mostly just on the edge. (snowkiting) And often we have snow which is not really smooth because of the wind.
cheers

Ummmm turney?? Not so much.
And fer the love of FSM, fucking BOOT OUT?!?!?!? You actually have no clue how to eliminate that?!?!?!
MF RISERS - no boot out and better leverage/edge control = better carving. Did you ever stop to wonder how the tele racers don't boot out on their 65 mm GS skis??
Go Stockli or go home. My current favorite is the Laser AX - turns like a go cart but is amazingly stable at speed. If you can't handle the precision, the SR 88 or 95. If you're strong enough, try to find a pair of the discontinued Nordica Fire Arrow 84 EDTs - warning: they may beat you to a bloody pulp.
