So the small (home)town yami dealer charged me $343 to replace the fork seals that BigCo in Bigcity i live in quoted $1,031. BigCo tech that I walked out on, who tried to argue how reasonable $1k was, had texted me originally about the pricing. So I texted him a copy of the $343 bill a few hours ago with the caption "$1k+ for this? What a joke."
Haven't heard back yet...."Can't you see..."

$343 is worth it to me. The one time a buddy and I did the seals on my Honda when I was 21, it sucked. The cash woulda saved me some split open knuckles, a fat lip, an almost chipped tooth, hunting around in the bushes for the springs, twice, many hours of swearing, and a missed date that would have been totally worth my while. I eventually got that date, but twice would have been even better.

^my wet dream as a 12 yr old in 1976. Parents were dead set against anything with a motor unless it was a car or a pushmower.

I second both parts. The power of the e-bikes is so easily regulated, it could essentially make Supercross all rider and suspension setup. Also, with batteries, there’s the chance the speed arrows from excite bike, Mario kart, and F-Zero could become a reality. I’m all for that.
"One season per year, the gods open the skies, and releases a white, fluffy, pillow on top of the most forbidding mountain landscapes, allowing people to travel over them with ease and relative abandonment of concern for safety. It's incredible."

Memory Lane. I never did learn how to wheelie. And I was skiing in jeans too. 74 RT 360.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.

Longest of long shots but if anyone has recently been inside a Yamaha dealer and seen a new Superjet for sale I'd love to hear about it. Called every dealer with any reference to having one and none did.

First bike I owned was a 1978 Yamaha DT 100. Eighth grade in NoVa.
Had been riding a Suzuki RV 90 for about 3 years prior in Florida sand and pine neeedles and snakes.
Now it's this:
I thank my Dad regularly for getting me into skiing and motorcycling, neither of which were his thing. Passions for life.

Always wanted a moto, since I was a little kid, mom and dad were always against it (sucks having smart parents). Finally got one in my 40's. Everyone says it is a mid life crisis, but I don't see the crisis.
Bought a WR250R off a buddy for a steal, low miles, basically new although it is an '08. Already spent another $1500 on upgrades, gear, and bags. This thing is a god damned blast! Put 2k miles on it in 2 months. Dirt, single track, pavement, everywhere. Such an amazingly capable bike in all conditions. Can't believe it is only a 250. Hit 92 downhill with a tail wind on I70
Was supposed to get my license at a class this weekend but it got canceled
Now I want all the bikes. Definitely need something that'll haul the wife around, and a crotch rocket, probably a MX bike to take to the local track. ALL THE BIKES. But I'll focus on this one for now.

I used to go to Unadilla in the late 70’s early 70’s. The Hannah vs, Kent Howerton battles were epic. DeCoster and Lackey too
