FS: Praxis protest 187 w/ griffon demo

Skis and bindings are both lightly used and in very good shape, with a couple of caveats on the skis.

I cut about 4 cm off the tails of these to make kick turns easier for skinning. There was so little material moved that I can't see it affecting the ride much at all but I never skied them before the mod.

They have 3 mounts so there probably isn't room for much else. I bought them used with 2 mounts for griffon at about 310mm which are 2 cm apart.

I then mounted speed radicals and skied them a few times. I removed the dynafits to install inserts and drilled all the 1/4" holes before realizing that I couldn't fully sink the inserts due to a thin core profile. So I plugged all of those holes with hardwood dowels and g-flex epoxy, making sure to cover all the wood with epoxy so there's no exposed wood.

I then installed the griffon demo's in one of the existing sets of griffon holes... which because they were mounted for a 310mm bsl instead of 310mm, the boot length markings on the bindings are not correct, but if you know how to set the forward pressure that doesn't really matter.

Having the demos on here is probably a good thing because there's so much variability in the mount points that people like... I ended up liking them forward a bit.

$275 USD plus shipping from Canada.

Just took them out to take pics and they're so minty I feel sad that I have to sell them before using them much.

Base pics show the worst of the damage... which is almost nothing. Pics of the tails show the cut... it was only in the tail spacer portion and not the core and there is zero risk of delam.

Maybe you can point to one of the threads that discussed mount points? I recall one on the tail chop experiment, how the ski balances, etc. This might help a perspective buyer.

    Good luck!

Edit: Ah! They're demo bindings! I missed that.

    Cheers,
    Thom

I'm guessing folks who are looking are concerned about this but not asking the question. It might raise their confidence level as to the quality of the mod.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

Later on I can try to find the thread where I documented this is more detail, but I chopped them with a dremel on the edges and a jig saw for most of it, and no sealing was necessary because the cut is only in the tail spacer and never touched the wood core.

Yeah, I realized it after posting, and then edited my post. Tempting offer,
