Those veneer 114 are still probably one of my favorite skis I have ever owned. Super intuitive and easy to ski in so many conditions and in so many ways. A lot of fun on days goofing around with friends. They came up a little short in landings and when I was too far from center. They can be skied with a light dose of anger. But we’re not as confident at high speed and high aggression as the stiffer ON3Ps I have had.
I would like to ride a pair of those old 110s to compare. And try a 191 Kartel. Somewhere with a little more stiffness and a little more length is a sweet ski for me. I like how easy it is to get some pop off the tails on the Kartel/Jeffrey line.
Scott are you all doing the Beartooth Pass weekend again this year? I’d like to try and make it up to demo skis again there.

J114 is one of the few ON3P's I have not owned or skied. From everything I've read and heard about the J114's, I wish I had gotten on some however.
Owned the OG 186cm J108's and personally found them to be too soft and unstable, so I was able to get some stiffer than stock 186cm J110's during an early press run for team skis. That ski was everything the J108 was missing in my opinion, and instantly became my daily driver for a few years until quiver overlap saturation pushed them to the side with a touring role in mind. Unfortunately the intended bindings didn't play nicely with the existing mount so I sold them off....regrettably.
Tried the 18/19 186cm K96 and 191cm K108 last month and had tons of fun on both skis, but will personally opt for some kind of stiffer than stock option or combination if/when I order either the K96/K108.
...still holding out hope for a longer radius stiff auv custom Jeffrey-Kartel.
I'd be stoked though if I had some veneer J114's sitting around waiting to be skied; heal up soon, herniated discs suck! Cycling was the major turning point during my own rehabilitation, you spinning at all?

Skied Cease and Desists today. Man, they really want speed, but once they are moving they are so fun.
I can’t even imagine how the wider, non-tour core C&D from a few years ago skied at slower speeds. Those must have been tanks!

Thinking about adding a 184 W108 as a travel ski. The length would be nice in tighter places where id prefer not to have tail rocker. But I think ill hold off until the 19’ model as it will be a better compliment to my current 186 K108.

Skied 50-60 days on the OG 191s. They were a great ski, probably top 3 ever. Very stiff and planky underfoot, but still very easy to ski in good snow. Even in relatively tight trees. Pintail/big twin tip made them release very easy. They were stomp machines as well.
Pretty bad in bumps and hard snow.Last edited by sf; 03-17-2018 at 02:35 AM.

In seriously deep snow yesterday, mine demanded I go 30mph, or they didnt want to work. Not a big deal..But once you cross that speed threshold, they work magic and will do whatever you ask them too.
On steeper terrain, they are definitely the best powder ski I have ever tried. But in flatter terrain, they aren’t as floaty as Steeples, or some Armada powder skis I have tried.

I skied powder Tuesday-Friday. Gotta work today and tomorrow. Plus today at Squalpine will be a madhouse. I’d rather not be around the crowds when the upper mountain is closed.

wren88s are dang pretty nice. They are not the stiff ass monsters i thought they would be - at all - they handle pretty much like a 108 that is a bit keener to turn. Me like. That the graphics are awesome doesn't hurt

Upper mountain just opened... and the lower mountain has been just awful in the meantime:

Those Wren 108’s hold up pretty well in deep pow...I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

I know I would have loved a wren88 in 189, but I dont think that length was ever made. That sounds like such a fun ski for frontside bumps and zoomers.
Does next years W96 handle firm significantly better than the current W98? How much stiffer is the new 96 compared to current 98? And most importantly, will the Wren 96 come in 189cm?

Your best bet is to get a brand new pair for $599 with code..They are the most durable skis on the market! You get what you pay for.

My new 189 goats are getting mounted (hmm that sounds kinda crude) now. Great deal, great company.
Not sure what will end up of my 11/12 191's
