Here is a quick visual comparison between 2018 184 BG - (purple top says 2016) and these 2022 18X BG (top is BG 108).

Yes you can see a tip/tail shape change. Yes there is a length change. Yes they are fucking awesome.

Edit: the 2018 purple have skin clip tail, but that’s not the shape change I’m referring to.

Hard to tell with length change but a more centred mount point too!? I strongly contest that my 186cm 2014’s mounted @ +1.5 is the best set up to have ever existed. If these are in the same ballpark, I'm a buyer for sure

Length consolidation across the whole line? Everything going to 182/187/192?
Jeffrey line is getting an update this year so maybe.

The tip profile on those look purdy

damn, hardly uesd 2019 BGs with P14s for 300? That is quite the deal. Resisting is a bit pointless imho - zero possible down side as long as they are legit.

Interesting PowTron! So significantly reworked/diminished asym, slightly more forward mounting point and seemingly being slightly wider throughout. Is the tail rocker reduced a bit too or "just" a decrease in pin tail? Aka is this the BG+SG merging some have been asking for, aka a ski that is still loose, but with slightly more supportive tails?

The 2022 lineup promises to be quite interesting with an overhaul of three of the four main lines - freestyle/Jeff, all mountain/wood and freeride/BG+C&D - and the reintroduction of skis dedicated to smaller/lighter riders aka the female line.

Dammit - I hope this doesn't end up being too expensive...

My thoughts exactly. If they had been the longest length I would’ve scooped them up immediately.

After getting out on my BG108Ts a few more times since I last posted expressing some doubts, I gotta say it's gotten a lot better. Chalking it up to needing more time getting used to such a different ski/binding setup and needing to be more forward than I was used to with the BGs (maybe the Voyager toe shim was the culprit there).

Now the BGs above are $400. Still a great deal, but thankfully no longer "hit the buy button and don't think" status for me.

Hey all, my kid is looking for a pair of Kartel/Jeff 102s in 181 or 186. He wants to save up and buy them new in custom pink. I think he should pick up a pair of used ones since he's gonna be on rails with them now and then and kinda beats the shit out of his skis.

So, if anyone has any they want to get rid of for a good price, lemme know. Might be able to work something out.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but ON3P's got quite a stash of sample/blem/one offs, including a J102 in 181 on their site. Not sure if it's within your son's budget (and some exclude warranties) but prices ain't bad for new ON3P sticks.

Edit: Someone pls buy those J116s so I don't.

2nd Edit: Guess those J102s aren't as cheap as I thought. I thought they were under the Blem sale, which are cheaper.

hm, the otherwise sold out 186 Jeff108tours and 187 woodsman180tours for 550? Those are quite the deals imho.

As are the various 184 Wrens on offer - 96ti (449), 102ti, 108ti and 110pro in soft (latter three 499)! Yikes.

With the new Billy Goat shape I’m wondering if they will be available to custom order over the summer... I’m probably fine with stock top-sheets but I think we may not have details on the ski after the custom sale is done for the year. Time will tell I guess...

The following season's lineup usually released in April or May of the same year, with production already being in full swing.

So I would not worry - if you want a pair with your choice of graphic (of the ones that area avaliable) through the custom option over summer then chances are good that that will be a possibility

At least it has been that way in years past before Covid hatefucked life as we know it. It seems like the emphasis over at ON3P currently is to reduce inventory prior to releasing the new lineup, so any day now
