That is not the case - just not a fit for where we see the custom program moving forward, so they've been more or less retired for a few years now.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

Considering the ruckus moment's scantily clad women/nipple top sheets provoked, probably best to leave the pf topsheets in the past.

I could see it working if they did a male + female pillow fight, probably on the same ski (cause equality) but the objectification of only women on skis would be problematic for the brand.

The “Hide Your Daughters” topsheet was given a extremely limited run of one 191 BG, mainly due to our models impressively luxurious chest hair and halfhearted attempt to conceal his nipples.

    Sucker.

Just like the rest of us.

I’m lucky there were no 102 Woods.

Ya.... I snagged some BGs. Whoops. I am excited to see the changes with this current gen. I think the changes could be slightly better for the Wasatch range.

186 J118 vs 188 Rustler11 (114), anyone been on both care to comment?

    Too much overlap?

I’ve only been on Jeff 108s but the two you lost seem like very different skis. I’ll let others get into it.

Thanks for the response. I dunno, they seem somewhat close on paper to my eyes. Mostly similar dims, radius, shape, and rocker amount tip and tail. Mount point is a little further back on the R11. I've never seen the J118 in person though.

Jeff's are heavier but R11 are definitely more smooth and stable than their weight might suggest.

I've only been on 180 R11s and 181 Kartel116s (custom stiffer) but they are not that similar imho.

The former is a directional ski at -8 or so mount point with long, low rocker zones and a construction that makes the torsionally stiff underfoot, and compliant at the ends. The respond well to both being driven and being skied from a more centered stance. They are a bit on the light side to really crush variable, but are good for their weight. The are very good on groomers for their width, yet the tails release easily on hard and soft snow alike. The comparable ON3P would be a woodsman118 with partial titanal, though the woodsman would probably be slightly more ski due to less taper and more weight.

Kartel116s are also very good skis (j118s are supposedly markedly better), but have a approx -4 mount point, which with tons of splay front and rear make them loose and nimble in any kinds of soft snow. Tremendous fun to use to pop off stuff, and while their weight still make them good in variable (way better than say BC120s) there are still better skis out there if smashing through everything in sight is the name of the game. They are much happier being skied from a centered stance than being driven through the shovels. Comparable skis to j118s from other brands are R121s and BC120s, probably white walkers too. J118s will outperform R11s going switch by quite the margin, especially in deep snow. As a side note: I regret selling my k116s before trying them with pivots - I kinda expect that I would get on with them really well with pivots and that my feeling of them having too much tail really was just a binding ramp angle thing - oh well.

The differences can also be seem when comparing these kartel98s (very similar rocker lines/shape) and r11s (notice the differences in flex pattern and the splay, then factor in the differences in construction and mount point):

I would happily have both R11s and J118s in the same quiver. While similar they still fill different uses.

oh and yes, thanks to the person who took one for the team and bought the 186 j118s 50/50 wood wolf grizzlycorn skis from the factory finds sale. The level of restraint on my part to not buy them over the past week can only be described as a triumph of will, but I was about to order them - so thanks!

Thanks for the response Kid. One thing, I don't think that side profile pic you posted are R11s though, they have quite a bit more tail splay than that.

I snapped that pic of a pair of 180s that I sold. Here is two pics of the same pair (top view and tail rocker emphasis), one of the second pair I owned (with Kingpins) from the side and the side view of a pair of woodsman108 182s:

Jeffs have a shit ton more splay out back, whereas Woodsmans are kinda similar to R11s in splay height - even if the rocker profile is a bit different, especially out front.

I think I need to order some Jeffrey 118’s with the retro Caylor 1 top sheet. Wife keeps saying “no” but I keep thinking “yes… and then I’ll hide the OG Caylor’s”

Oh weird, my 188 R11 definitely look like they have more tail splay than your 180s did. Maybe it's just the angle of the pics or something

That sounds like a great idea

yeah, that could be - though R11s do not have a ton of splay out back compared to Jeffs.

Best plan I've heard in a while; fool proof.
