    Nice bump KQ

How memories change. In 2016, here in my own thread, I listed Aerosmith’s Angel.

It’s still fantastic. But moreso for the 6th grade nostalgia.

And it’s currently a recommended wasp repellent.
I still call it The Jake.

I'll see you in another life now, baby
I'll free you in my dreams
But when I reach across the galaxy
    I will miss your company

It doesn't get any more beautiful, or any sadder.

I’ve been listening to this on and off since I first heard it in the early 80’s; so damn beautifully sad.

This song has always been with me, and beautifully sad is precisely why.

Now I've paid my dues cuz I have owed them, but I've paid a price sometimes
For being such a stubborn woman in such stubborn times
Now I have run from the arms of lovers, I've run from the eyes of friends
I have run from the hands of kindness, I've run just because I can

But now I'm grown and I speak like a woman and I see with a woman's eyes
And an open door is to me now is like the saddest of goodbyes
It's too late for turning back, I pray for the heart and the nerve

And I rely upon the moon, I rely upon the moon
I rely upon the moon and Saint Christopher to be my guide

When I die let the wolves enjoy my bones
When I die let me go
When I die let the wolves enjoy my bones
When I die let me go
When I die you can push me out to sea
When I die set me free
When I die let the sharks come 'round to feed
When I die set me free
    Oh, the world is dark
And I've looked as far as I can see
When the years have torn me apart
    Let me be

If I could just make it stop
    Breaking my heart
    Get out of the way
If I could just make it stop
You see I'm close to the edge
I'm at the end of my rope
The rope is starting to thread
I'm trying to keep my hold
You say I'm something I'm not
But I'm not what I seem
Get my back off the wall
If I could just make it stop

I'm a NIN/TR fan, but Johnny Cash made this his own, and I really connected with it.
Years later, I would see the video for the first time, I remember feeling a real visceral sadness in reaction to viewing it, and every time I've watched it since.

    ....
Wake up it's time to go
The taste of tears still in your throat
    Silence from your songs
Reminds us, when you are gone
We can't hate the river for flowing
Can't blame the wild wind blowing
    Can't slow time from running
    We can't stop what's coming
