Netflix, how do it know?
Last week, the Wife lost her CC, so we canceled it. We got the new card yesterday, and I also got an email from Netflix that they couldn't process our monthly payment, and to pay up. Today, before I could update my account, I get an email from Netflix basically saying nevermind. Neither one of us updated the account. I checked, and sure enough, they have the new CC number on file. WTF?
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Has happened to me before too.. not just with Netflix.
Felt sketchy as fuck, but saved me work so I just accepted it and moved on.

My understanding is that there are companies deemed "reliable" enough that when a CC number is changed & then a subscription charge bounces, the CC company just feeds them the new number.
I had a situation where a bogus account was opened with one of those companies and I had a hard time nuking it. I canceled my CC specifically because of that. Next thing I know another charge goes through on the new number. When I called the CC company they cheerily informed me that they had provided the company the new number as a courtesy .
