    Yeah, and when it's mentioned in conversation you'd actually have a general idea of what they're talking about. I had obviously heard of Crohn's, but until someone I knew was dealing with it in their family, I really had no clue what it was exactly.

    Horses get Cushing ' s disease. I've never heard it called anything else..

    Pretty much 100%, since whatever disease he had would by default be Lou Gehrig's disease.

    Technically they don't, since Cushing's is a human disease, but yeah, the term is used in vet med all the time. The proper veterinary term is hyperadernocorticism.
