Salomon brake exchange: buy/sell/trade sth / sth2 brakes
We've got a mess of threads with mags trying to find or sell or swap sally brakes. Let's consolidate.
Keep it simple, post what you've got or what you need. Keep the tech talk where it belongs, Jong, this is for dealin only.
EDIT: let's try something. I'm going to send climber joe some 115 sth's I have hanging around, no charge. He's going to be cool and pass that on, and send someone else his 100's. That person can keep it going or can be an ass and not.
nobody's making any money off these anyway, so let's skip the greed and help each other out.
I'll start.
Have sth2 130 and sth 90 (I think? They are skinny.)
<115's sent to climber joe.>
*still need sth2 115.Last edited by optics; 01-31-2016 at 04:15 PM.

Have: STH 100
Need: STH2 115 & STH 115
Is there any difference between the STH series brakes? I have STH16 steels and the brakes don't have the white slick pads I see on some of them.

HAve: STH2 blue/black DIN 16 115 mm
Need: 100 mm
sounds like climber joe might work? But I don't know if STH2 and STH cross compatible. According to untracked . com These brakes fit both the Salomon Guardian Binding and the Atomic Tracker AT ski binding. The brakes also fit the STH2 WTR and Warden WTR MNC bindings. No matter where you go, there you are. - BB

The heel on the STH2, Guardian, Tracker, and Warden are all the same. That is where the brake connects and why they are interchangeable.

As it says, looking for 115mm brakes for STH2...prefer to buy straight out vs swapping for 100mm.

I'm into the pay it forward thing, but I'd hit you for some beer $$ too.

So the STH and STH2 brakes are not interchangeable as a whole. And by "as a whole" I guess I mean the stomp pad + brake arms.
But how about just the brake arms themselves? If I've got a complete STH2 binding, can I take brake arms from STH (like prsboogie has) and insert them into the stomp pad on the STH2? I'm guessing not but haven't seen it specifically..anybody know?

I put STH2 arms into STH stomp pads. The parts that fit into the stomp pad are identical, but the external parts of the arms are bent a bit differently. I haven't actually mounted them on skis yet, but it doesn't look like there will be any issue.
The STH arms are easy to remove/replace, once you know which way to twist them. I learned how from a youtube video. The STH2 arms can come out the same way, but require a lot more force (or maybe require another trick I don't know). I slightly damaged the plastic in the STH2 stomp pads by removing the arms. Doesn't look like it will be a problem, but be careful.

Ended up paying more than I liked retail for 115s STH2, but couldn't wait on the uncertain transit from MEC. Hope y'all have better luck.
