probably ^^ the fuel management system which can run the engine on 2 cylinders WHICH I hear can be problematic when they don't work right

I could see a mishandled weapon putting a bullet thru the floor boards but i think the starter is on the other side

I was talking to the lance the freelance mechanic at Freelance automotive last week and he said any slightly used diesel that come in its gona be a 5000$ bill

I think you can chose to lock out the fuel management system BTW with software or a chip

    Trucks.

50000km on our 2015 chevy 1500 crewcab, 5.3L. No issues so far, get about 13L/100km empty, about 22L/100km pulling 5000lbs trailer. Almost all highway miles. No chip, but a $200 range tech can plug in under the dash and doesn’t leave a trace in the computer for warranty work (as long as you unplug it before it into the shop). I wonder if the folks that have issue with the AFM are hard on acceleration, or spend a lot of time in start and stop traffic, causing stress when the system engages/disengages the AFM. Anyway, family loves the rig for roadtrips with the trailer, or heading down to the cabin loaded with the tools and toys. Click image for larger version.

Where are you located? What configuration do you want? I tend to spend too much time looking at trucks lol.

^pictures aren't great but doesn't look to have bedside rust. Probably about as nice as you're likely to find under 5k unless you go single cab.

That is a solid hit thanks. I have a 460 now and it works great. 4spd is only weakness.

Agreed. When I sold my 97 I said the next one needed a 5 speed and a D60. I can go take a peak at that one if you want. Hell I might anyways just for fun.

A '97 gasser F250 is a solid rig. I had a '97 PSD and it was an absolute pig off road and ate tires and brakes like a fat kid at an all you can eat buffet.

Not bad. I like the sneaky subwoofer. I want to put a sledbed on it so lift doesn't help haha

You mean you don't sleep in your truck bed? I'd stay clear of a lifted TTB personally.

Currently have a sleeping platform to stuff a bike and gear under, but might switch to the two box method, and or those cots I saw on here are pretty cool.
As for the romper room, seems like really limiting what you can do with your truck? And hope his seals rain out a lot better than mine. And that he has a condensation catchment system.
And yeah wasn’t suggesting buying that just saw the interior and seemed a little odd.

    Local find $5000

It has the 7.3 with 250k auto trans

Hope it isn't a disaster but likely needs a little work. I can flip it if needed

Yeah I was being a smart ass. I think they call it a carpet kit, and I agree it wouldn't suit my needs and would probably get funky in short order. I run a platform as well.

Simple, that looks like a solid rig. Tell the seller you want to be there for the first startup of the day. If its above 40F and doesn't start easy, it likely needs injectors eventually. Check for blow-by in the oil fill and rock on with that 7.3!

This is making me wish I didn't sell my 97, but she was pretty tired out.

I haven't picked out a truck yet. Found a sweet red 95 Chevy 1500 short bed and a green 97 Ford 7.3 PSD long bed The PSD is more than twice the Chevy. Probably costs twice as much to maintain. Ha

Yup. And also twice the truck. Just depends on what you need vs. want.

    Kinda sorta.

Waiting on Dad to decide what hunting ATV he wants. He is laid up with a back issue but the season starts soon. If he wants a trailer that Chevy will work great. If he wants it in the bed the Ford would be better. I would rather have the Ford for a sled bed but my single place trailer works great even at tight trailheads

Like I posted above, if you're going anywhere off pavement the PSD will be an absolute pig with the turning radius of the Queen Mary.

Sometimes I find owning a full size truck to be a pain in the ass.
Other times I’m stoked on the ability to go full junk show.
Case in point: 2,400 lbs, 17’ long. Fortunately I only needed to go 6 miles...

    Trucks.

After about 17 years with a work truck, I just bought my first pickup.
2012 Toyota Tundra Crewmax with the Platinum trim package. 96,000km for a 7yo truck is pretty good, and the saddle-brown leather is gorgeous.
