Just get the Tundra, pay the tax, and move on. You won't find anything close to being as reliable. I'm looking for a newer one for a work truck. Probably just an Sr5. 6.5' bed. RE TRD pro, if you want the fancies get the 1794 edition. I think they still make that? Baller grocery getter.

I Thot i would like Tacoma cuz its like the holy grail for skiers and mtnbikers but I didnt so I just ditched it for a 24 Tundra TRD double cab and thats a nice truck

I got just< 22imperial mpg on my first highway trip, I think the Taco used to get 25 or 26, I think V6 ranger was 25 or 26 but i donot care

Bought a 2009 avalanche, fully loaded interior. 113k miles for $9k. No cladding and black so it looks fine. Everthing is in good shape and previous owner was a dealer tech so it was well maintained. Need to do a bit of cleaning and fix the bed gutters but I think it was a good deal. Tires are Michelin ltx but a bit on the old side so going to shop for some take offs and flip the wheels, especially since I would prefer 17s or 18s instead of the 20s on the truck.
My xl enduro bike just fits in the bed diagonal standing up but I need to get a tailgate pad or old blanket to hang over. Drove it 100 miles home and it seems like a great highway cruiser and should pull the 3000lb tent trailer just fine.

Ive got a 2015 TuRD pro with the double cab. Just over 100,000 miles and I drive like a granny.

It is the holy grail to me. But if used prices go nuts again I might sell it, but itll have to be an ass raping price which I wont subject anyoone around here to.

150k on my '09 Tundra and it is still going really strong. It has had a slide in camper on it for half its life too. Just redid the drivetrain, new U joints and Carrier bearing. Smoothed it out a lot. Still passes cars easily on the I70 uphills with about 1500 lbs onboard. 11.5 mpg isn't terrible. Makes it to Fruita in one tank. I'll drive it till it dies then buy another one used.

120k on my 18 Tundra. Literally only have had to put tires and brakes on it (2x each). Towed my boat (about 6k pounds wet on the trailer) about 20k of those miles. Not bad for only changing the oil every 7.5 - 10k miles.

To follow up on the 3.5EB talk from last page. I’ve been driving a ‘21 for work over the last couple months and have been surprised how much I like it. It’s an XL, so maybe lacking some creature comforts that I’m used to but it drives well and is comfortable which is all I care about. Crew cab and 6.5’ bed is a nice combo too.
Towed a camper (~5,500lbs) down to Moab and back and it handled it way better than a Tundra, which is what my in-laws have and I’ve towed it multiple times with that truck. Not saying the Tundra won’t do it, because it does, but you can definitely feel it back there. On flat ground it’s fine, but going up passes the EB can hold speed at much lower RPM.

302 Windsor was a great motor! Very versatile and put in many different vehicles platforms.
As far as trucks from this era, the best motor probably depends on usage. As a DD around SLC, there is no fucking way I&#39;d take a 300 I6 over the 5.0 in an F150. Farm, forest or towing I&#39;d prefer the 300, but the f150&#39;s from this era had an under gunned (talking manuals. Auto trannies from this era are a firm no go for me) transmission, so the better choice would be 250 and up to get the stouter 5speed. At that point I&#39;d take a 460 over the 300, except for the fuel consumption. So whilst being a great motor the 300 is kinda in a tweener zone. I&#39;ve owned pickups w/ 302&#39;s, 300&#39;s and 460&#39;s

My old man has a mid-'80s F350 crew cab with the 460 that's his firewood and dump hauler. There's lichen growing on the paint but the motor still purrs like a kitten.
