    Gyro or Stabilizer

Anyone using a gyro or camera stabilizer? They can range in price from a few hundred to a few thousand. Anyone have any experience with 1, above and beyond the rubber inserts that come with the GoPro?

SkiJunky_05 posted some footage using one brand, and there is a ton floating around of skiing and biking using the feiyu (not sure on spelling). I know a friend who had (one of the latter) break. but was super stoked on it prior.

yea the skijunky (he's my main squeeze) has one of the Zhiyun models (sorry previously I thot it was the Feiyu bc that one was also in our amazon cart)

The "Easy like Sunday Morning" video here is using the gimbal with gopro (chest mounted)

It makes the footage sooo much smoother but alas he has broken a couple of them. Zhiyun has been awesome about warranty though and the last time they just went ahead and sent him a new one without his having to send the old one back first (they're based in China so the time lag on shipping is a bit longer but has been smooth overall) and the newest model has more reinforced wiring so handles all the jiggling of our sports a bit better.

the model he has is under $300 so not too shabby

(he's on a trip right now so I can't ask him and the other gimbal was in our amazon cart so thought that was the same one he had)
they all look the same to me (is that electronics racism??)

I ended up getting a Feiyu G4 QD. I can't believe it took me so long to buy 1 on of these!!! for $225 on Amazon you can't go wrong. Below is a video I made using it, as you can tell super smooth compared to the rest of my videos without it.

These things looks pretty delicate. The gyro hardware seems fragile and I'd also be a little bit concerned to run the gopro without the plastic case. Anyone break one of these? Crash without breaking one?

I was worried about its durability too... and for sure you can't beat on it, but seems to be pretty tuff. I have only used mine on 2 trips, total of 4 days. I keep it in Microfiber pouch in my backpack and it seems to be ok so far. Time will tell.
