more claims of outright dog abuse - weaponized by the pigs
do not try and post here and claim that "working" dogs are treated well
these fascists love nothing more than exerting their dominance over other living things. Shit, i bet a cop thinks he can tell a rock what to do
bottom line is that all "working" dogs, short of avi and handicap people dogs, are in misery and constantly mistreated by their "master"
what other relationships do you know of with a "master"???
do not try and place human ideas and social conventions on animals, you will get bit

My wife and I. She is the boss and I frequently tell her "yes em Master".
From your link: "Tales of K-9 heroism abound, which is one reason they're so beloved by their handlers—and the public. When a French bomb-sniffing dog named Diesel was killed in a police raid following the Paris terrorist attacks in November, tens of thousands of people tweeted in support. And for human police officers, the dogs' singular sense of mission inspires their own loyalty".

It's OK. They'll be replaced by robot dogs soon.

taking a holistic view couldn't one claim that the proliferation of working canids simply reinforces their stake at the table when it comes to being afforded due respect?

There are some cattle dogs that are well treated, happy, and loved. Not many, but some. I think there are a bit more sheep dogs that are pretty well cared for and have pretty good lives.

Oh, don't be such a pussy, DD - everyone knows that ALL domesticated animals are slaves, or worse. As a brutal overlord slave master, the guilt and shame is making my herpes erupt.

The term "shock collar" really needs to go away in the general community as it has in the professional and hunting world. They are referred to as an "e collar" since you are not "shocking" the animal for correction. Dogs are very sensitive to e.stem and can sense the stimulation the collar puts off. If a collar is set properly, when activated the dog will just barely move its head or move an ear slightly in curiosity. A human will feel nothing at all if the collar is applied to them and activated.

This.
A gentle correction with an e collar is far better than someone yelling and screaming at fido or worse yet fido getting into trouble, hit by a car, chasing animals, etc. Or an owner losing their temper and beating fido up.
When a bird dog goes into "hunt mode" they may as well be on crack and not much stops them. The e collar helps keep my dogs safe when off-leash in the mountains.
